Anyone else playing this sweet ass game??? I am only playing on "Normal" difficulty This is the 2nd level of difficulty out of 4 levels. This one is hard enough, hate to play the other ones. I have had the game/system for one week today. I am on the level where you discover the control room of HALO and you meet the new enemy. Not the Covenant. I just got sucked into some "Library" where I have to follow a little blue floating ball. Weird... It is about the 5th or 6th level. Anyone else past this level or anywhere close? Favorite Vehicle : Scorpion Tank Favorite Gun : Sniper Rifle Hardest Enemy : The Hunters The XBOX controls are a little tough to play at first but this is game is really fun.
I finished it on Normal. Man....oh what a thrill ride!!!! Pretty damn fun game...definitely the best FPS and possibly game I have ever played. The enemy AI is excellent. They actually have different moves and just don't strafe from side to side like morons. I like how if you throw a grenade at one which attaches to it then it will run after you to try and blow you up as well. I had alot of fun playing this game. Next up is playing on heroic....I hear legendary is close to impossible. I died alot in this game...that is for sure. On some levels, it took many attempts to figure out how to get past that level. This Saturday I hope to play multi-player online using the Gamespy software that was developed. My hub won't be here till Saturday. Not sure my cable modem has enough upstream bandwidth for Halo, though, as it's only 128 Kbps and I hear it requires 256 Kbps. We will see I guess. Enjoy!
WTF??????? Playing online???????? WHO WHAT WHEN WHERE HOW???????????? I got a hub, I will play you!!!

I've used it but I don't believe it's region free. I like the quality of the DVD playback. I have read that it's not region free, however. I don't have any other region discs to test it with, though. Surf
While I know Im venturing into the X-box crowd here, and dont get me wrong, I would absolutely love to play Halo, it looks freaking awesome, I suggest all who are spending hours and hours at that game also give Super Monkey Ball on gamecube a try. It is just as addictive, the graphics are amazing, and it is a lot of fun for multiple players. I hope to play Halo soon though.
I'm new to DVD's, and I hope its region free but I can figure out from the NTSC stamp on the box that its probably not. I still haven't bought the DVD playback kit yet. I also need a second controller so I can whip up on some people in Live 2002. Yes, you need the remote to operate the DVD player.
Excuse me, what does region free mean? Does that pertain to older DVDs? I'm thinking about gettin an XBox, but am curious about this region free business.
DVD's are tagged by the region in which they are produced. For example, a region 1 DVD can only be played on a region 1 player. A region free player will allow all DVD's to be played no matter the region.
I know there are some die-hards that are into getting Region 2 DVDs as sometimes they are better quality or come out sooner than their Region 1 equivalents. Early DVD players may have been region free or could be modified to be region free. However, most(if not all) current selling DVD players now enforce region codes. XBox is NTSC and I believe there is no way it is region free. Not to say someone couldn't modify the internals or something to make it that way. It will probably happen at some point. MS is also supposed to software enable the progressive scan DVD playback at some point as well whereas now it just works for games. Per the DVD playback, the sensor which plugs into the modified USB controller port is key to DVD playback. Without it, you cannot play DVDs. I have read people are attempting to come up with a hardware hack to avoid having to buy the DVD playback kit. The DVD remote itself is just a basic RCA remote. I was able to get by just using my Sony universal remote (AV2100) as it has the RCA codes pre-programmed in it already. Only bad thing about DVD playback is there is no way to turn the XBox on/off via a remote. You have to get off your duff and turn it off. It does, however, have an auto shutoff feature that is set to 4 hours I believe and is unadjustable. Overall, I'm really happy with the XBox. I look forward to more cool games. I'm not a big gamer so I'm not on it every second I get. But, the overall addition to my Home Theater has been excellent. Most games support Dolby Digital and the graphics are awesome. They need to start using anti-aliasing in the games, however, to improve the quality and get rid of some of those jaggies.
Surfguy, have you played Airforce Delta Storm? Is it any good? From the reviews I've read its been a disappointment although it sounds like an interesting game.
I have it and I've played it. It's mainly arcade style mission-based shoot up the targets on land, air, and sea to achieve the mission objectives(so what else is new). Honestly, I haven't played it all too much and what I have played has been on the novice settings which limits your maneuverability. I need to switch over to expert and play some more. I would say it's not a "great" game and is kind of repetitive. I've only gone through a few missions so far. It's definitely not a flight sim. I need more time with it but with no multi-player of any kind or co-op play...there is not much replay value I imagine once you finish it. I would rent it first. There are a lot of jets I have yet to unlock and use so I can't really give it a fair review just yet. It does have Dolby Digital sound and the graphics are decent...could be better. I think the reviews I've seen give it about a C which is probably about right. Other games I have are DOA3, Halo, SW: Starfighter SE(just got yesterday), Madden 2002, and Munch. Most of the games came in a bundle I ordered from EB where my choices were limited. Munch is cool in a weird sort of way. Honestly, except for Halo, I haven't given any of the other titles enough play time. Overall, the gaming experience has been very enjoyable on the xbox for myself though.
I absolutely f*ck people up in Halo Infinite multiplayer. I was good at Halo 3 in middle school, stopped playing it for over nearly 15 years, downloaded infinite off game pass a few years ago to check it out and was shocked at how good I still am it. I had a 30 kill 0 death match a few months ago.
