What's the craziest costume you have ever seen/been? What (if anything) are you going to be this Halloween? I'm starting to get too old to dress-up but all my other friends in college are going as something... so I feel obligated to do so. Also what plans do you have for Halloween? ... I think most people are "celebrating" on Saturday nite and not Sunday.
Parlay on Saturday night and watching Aqua Teen Hungerforce marathon on Halloween Night. I may or may not dress up dependent upon if I get any cash flow.
Ok, since I have to work this weekend, my wife and I had to pass on an invitation to a costume party. So now I'm going to tell you what our costumes were gonna be. Feel free to use this if you wish. My wife got an old, fancy dress from a second hand shop. She was going to wear it, while I poured a bucket of fake blood over her head. Meanwhile, I trimmed the hedges out front of the house and pinned all the clippings to a shirt and pants. Get it? We were gonna be Bush and Kerry!
What's the craziest costume you have ever seen/been? Seen = Can't beat Daniel LaRusso's shower costume! Been = I dressed in drag one year, with a pink dress and everything. Won the prize for best costume! What (if anything) are you going to be this Halloween? Nothing, probably. Also what plans do you have for Halloween? Driving down to Minnesota to watch the Vikings game!!!!
I LOVE Halloween!!! The past few years I have been: A "trick or treater" that got hit by a car Billy Idol Micheal Douglas in movie "Falling Down" A Jawa Navin R Johnson in carnival outfit from movie "The Jerk" Cool retro spaceman in covered in lights This year I am going as a Kobra Kai wearing their skeleton Halloween outfit from movie "The Karate Kid."
No. Way. That's what my wife is going to be this year, Daniel LaRusso in his shower costume!!! And I'm going to be a Kobra Kai in skeleton costume.
I had won the work costume contest the last 2 years. Last year I was Darth Vader and it was a pretty good costume (even had a CD player under the chest plate that had breathing and selected lines from the Star Wars Movies). 2 years ago I was this 7 foot alien (it had one of those height extension things on it) along with this cool voice box that made it sound like I had sucked helium and was talking through a fan. This year I have decided not to dress up. I was finding it harder and harder plus more expensive to outdo these last 2 years' costumes.
Craziest I've been was Britney Spears, funniest thing was an Aggie. The 29th is my school's carnival, which I was harrassed by a bunch of 8 year olds to go... So I bought some fairy wings from Walgreens. I'll figure out the rest of the outfit later. The 30th is my best friend's bachelorette party.... We're wearing all black, but not doing anything Halloween related. The 31st is the only day that I don't have something planned for the next 10 days. Unfortunately, Halloween falls in the midst of a slew of mid-term tests and papers
Im doing the taking my kid around the neighborhood thing...I will be dressed as an Executioner with long black robe and leather headpiece covering most of my face(except mouth/chin) with the black fabric hanging down onto the chest...still tryin to find a convincing looking double headed axe... meanwhile..back at the house...the wife will be at the entrance of the garage with a graveyard backdrop strung across just inside the entrance...she will probably be dressed as your standard witch.. and after the neighborhood rounds are done...Ill drink 151 bacardi and diet mountain dew while waiting inthe shadows to scare the piss out of the older kids who invariably come around sans costumes tryin to scam some free candy.... Last year I about had this one teen boy pissin his pants when I lept out of the shadows in front of the house wearing the JAson hockey mask and brandishing a real shiny machete with ominous looking stains on it.. <evil grin> fun fun fun in suburbia...
Im going to be in downtown as usual. They have planned some big parade that is going to be going on all friday for like 3 blocks sort of like the ones they do in 6th Street in Austin. It's supposed to be a really big deal and they are promoting it on tv and the houston Press....so i will be working all this weekend for the parties that are going on.
I can never think of any good costumes, until perhaps the last minute when it's too late. The best story was my freshman year in college, when nine of us got together and dressed as a centipede. Most of us were completely under a decorated sheet, with my roommate's head sticking out of the front with the antennae on, etc. The idea was to go trick-or-treating in River Oaks, where they supposedly gave out whole candy bars instead of the little ones (no, they just gave out the little ones) and to make them think, at least at first, that we were younger than we were. My roommate looked young, and we were all on our knees inside the centipede costume - until we stood up to get the candy. I think they all knew we were in college, but they appreciated the creativity. It was fun seeing the rich people's houses. Then, when we got back, a couple of us had to go straight to Midnight Madness and play in the pep band. We went and played and watched the basketball team introduced and also watched a stream of naked people come run through the gym (really). When we got back, our friends had divided our candy among themselves. Oh well. Good times anyway. This year, I'm just going to stay home and pass out candy to kids. Someone has to. On Saturday, there's a lot of families weekend stuff going on at my school, so I'll be busy enough. One of these days I'm going to find a set of red horns and a tail along with a pitchfork. I will wear it on Halloween to teach class in, thereby "proving what students might have thought all along". Not this year, because Halloween isn't until Sunday. Some people may dress up on Friday, but I don't teach any classes on Friday.
Last year I worked at an adult novelty store on Halloween so I dressed up like a priest and anytime someone walked in I held up a bible and started yelling sinner!!!! Yeah... I'm going to hell but at least I'll have plenty of company!
taking my son trick-or-treating...he's spiderman! preparing for birth of next son which could be any day now.
stack24 - Is there a website or a central location where there is updated information on Main Street events? How can we find out information of things going on in downtown for special occasions (Astros, Halloween, etc)? For someone born and raised in Houston, the events on Main Street recently have been more than I could have ever expected but it's hard to hear about them. Thanks! -Ruby
