I've meaning to post this prior to Turkey day but I was somewhat busy. Anyway, last Friday Halliburton- KBR went and laid off some people b/c they are not making any money. Just in time for the holidays. Fortunately, I wasn't one of them this time. I had posted a thread a week before the Super Bowl "I just laid..." I had got laid off early this year by Halliburton-ESG after 10yrs of service. I got re-hired on with Halliburton-KBR 5 months later. I just can't imagine getting laid off during the holiday season. I remember them doing it last year too. That sux!

One of my ex managers from my old job quit his job to go work in Iraq for Halliburton as a food service manager, he says they're paying him 150K for a one year contract, although he was always one to overstate things on occasions.
True there are people working for Halliburton in Iraq making big bucks but there are also a lot of people trying to get out of their contract and get back to the states for simple fear of their lives. There is a sign here in the main lobby that reads to the effect of "Our thoughts and prayers are with troops and the missing KBR employees".
