------------------------ Rockets catch Sonics Another rally down stretch produces victory By JONATHAN FEIGEN Copyright 2002 Houston Chronicle ... Mobley made six of 10 3-pointers, and routinely got good shots, using a small adjustment to his usual plan of attack. "I just wanted to not use too many dribbles," Mobley said. "GP (Gary Payton) and those guys do a lot of reaching and grabbing and holding. If you put the ball on the floor too many times, those guys just grab. I wanted to do a one- or two-dribble pull-up or go straight up." ... ------------------------ Hey, Steve, Mooch! Make the same exact adjustment! Please!
I wouldn't get too excited, he did specify that this was just because he was playing the Sonics, and not that he did it because he thought it wouldn't work for all teams. However, I was very encouraged last night to see the Rockets getting most of their shots off in plenty of time so as not to rush to beat the shot clock.
If this game was any indication of what he can play like when he chooses not to dribble incessantly, then maybe we're on to something.
