The Oscar winner ("Monster's Ball") stops short of confirming to Essence magazine reports that Benet sought treatment for sex addiction at an Arizona clinic earlier this year. "The truth is that during the period of my most significant public success - the Academy Awards - my private life faced a staggering crisis," says Berry, who hopes "to help other women who are walking through the same emotional maze." The tabloids reported that her husband of just one year had cheated on her with a string of women. They ran photos of Berry visiting The Meadows rehab center in Wickenburg. The reports "violated my family's privacy.... But, as adults, Eric and I can take it. "All romantic relationships suffer crises; no woman can claim otherwise," says Berry. "The details of mine, while tantalizing, are not the point. All our crises are heartbreaking."
That is sad. You know the guy has to have a problem if he is cheating on one of the sexiest women around. Hope he pulls it together........is sex addiction just a nice word for nymphomaniac?
Damn...if i was with Halle Berry, i'd tell her that i was a sexaholic and that she'd have to meet my needs, otherwise i might get it somewhere else. Get all the Halle you can get!!!
His cheating probably doesn't reflect the feelings that he has for Halle -- his cheating is actually more about the feelings he has for himself. Sex addicts (like most other addicts) usually have a pretty low opinion of themselves, and they turn to their addiction (be it drugs, sex, shopping, alcohol...) in order to mask their painful feelings. Halle's husband most likely thought that if other women found him attractive enough to have sex with, then he could feel better about himself. It's not surprising that this came during the time of Halle's greatest professional success. As the media spotlight on her got larger and larger, his feelings of self worth probably got smaller and smaller. Even in this day and age, it's difficult (and to some degree emasculating) to be the semi-unknown husband of a very famous woman. I hope they're able to work this out.
I guess if you can get Halle Berry, you feel like you can get anybody. Possibly he feels like he needs some challenge.
I'd just like to take a moment to say Halle is the sexiest woman in the world and I really enjoyed her "Berries" in Swordfish.
This my PROVES theory correct: Regardless of how beautiful and sexy a woman is, some where, some one is sick of her ****.
Addicts don't choose to do what they do. They are compelled to do it and will often do whatever it takes to do it. That's when the problems arise. It's a long healing process with a lot of therapy. There is no choice here. There are sex addicts who when they touch a mouse have an orgasm. They just associate a mouse to having sex. It's all chemical. Who knows what his problems are or where they came from. It could be anything.
