I read a funny article in the New York Times that is prefectly in line with my feelings on what constitutes the worst films ever. Basically, the truly dreadful film is one that attempts to give you a Very Important Message about the world we live in. Haley Joel Osment seems to be in every Very Important Film these days and I am longing for one of his adolescent classmates to turn him on to smack, or get him interested in sports, or something. Anything! Just keep him away from the studios! If he is going to keep acting he needs to get in a Spring break kegger movie quick, or he will join Robin Williams in the Hall of Pretension. What made me realize that he may be the anti-Christ was "Pay It Forward." I watched a little of "Pay It Forward" with Osment in it and I had to hold my hand over my mouth to keep from projectile vommitting all over my cat. The finale where the good citizens of Las Vegas held a candlelight vigil for the murdered Osment was so cloying and such fundamental BS that I think that all of the people involved with the film should be forced to work in the salt mines of Siberia. Better yet, force them to pay to see one of their own films! I know, I know..the Constitution protects against cruel and unusual punishment... -Elvis, who wishes Haley would mix in a blink of his eyes once in a while
Is it so unbelieveable to think that those people cared for him and that was the reason for the vigil? While I am not a big fan of Osment, I did like Pay It Forward and really don't understand your criticism towards the movie. Just my opinion!
