Well according to the Orlando Sentinel. Future Hall of Famer Hakeem Olajuwon, 38, made his last trip to Central Florida in a Houston Rockets uniform, but that doesn't mean he won't be back. He even could be back in a Magic uniform. When the Rockets renounce his rights this summer to clear salary-cap space in their rebuilding project, Olajuwon likely will consider both the Orlando Magic and the Miami Heat. According to a source close to Olajuwon, he spent much of Friday driving around Central Florida and came away impressed with what he saw. Olajuwon has told friends he wants to play in a warm-weather city and for a contender, which the Magic believe they will be when Grant Hill returns next season. And even at age 39, Olajuwon could be one of the better centers in the Eastern Conference. Because both the Magic and the Heat will be over the cap, they would be able to offer only the $4.5 million exception, which might be all he can command. Although Olajuwon will not be their first choice among frontcourt free agents this summer, the Magic certainly could consider him. ------------------ "Break off the block like Maurice Green" --- Steve Francis President of the Moochie Norris fan club.
I like how they give no chance that Hakeem will be a Rocket next year. Nice touch. ------------------ The Serious Police are watching. Follow the rules or be assimilated. Shandon is underrated.
So have we come to the conclusion that Hakeem will be playing next year. Where are all the threads about his need to retire? ------------------ We can reach our destination, but it's still a ways away.
Hakeem I think will not retire. After now knowing that he still got some stuff left, hakeem will be busy looking around. I think the rockets should keep him for around 3 or 4 million. Hakeem still produces and he is a better rebounder than Mo. I would rather have Hakeem than Mo taylor next year. ------------------ "Break off the block like Maurice Green" --- Steve Francis President of the Moochie Norris fan club.
Ah yes...extremely sound journalism. Why wait for the facts and details when assumtions and guesses are so easy to come by? Then again, was this an actual article or a column? ------------------ "Weathermen are simply con-artists with radar equipment. A 50 percent chance of rain? That's the same as saying 'maybe, maybe not.' I could tell you that!" - P. Mesku
I would rather have Hakeem than Mo taylor next year. Yeah well Mo is a POWER FORWARD, and Dream is a CENTER, so it doesn't matter because we could have both of them! ------------------ Dream a deadly Dream. . .

Hakeem wants to play for a contender, how many of you actually BELIEVE we will be a contender next year? Not anyone sane.... Wow, just imagine a lineup of Steve, Cuttino, Shandon, Webber, and Dream. You'd have the best of both worlds on that team. The best backcourt in the league, and the best frontcourt in the league. We dont have to sign Mo taylor. Mo thinks he is getting a big contract. Rockets can just go ahead and sign hakeem and let that sorry clipper go. ------------------ "Break off the block like Maurice Green" --- Steve Francis President of the Moochie Norris fan club.
