Hakeem should not be allowed to wear the Rocket's uniform next season- end of story. Hakeem seems to think he can mope around like a little b****, demand to be traded, and then change his mind and play hard. When Hakeem decided to play, the Rockets were a playoff caliber team. Unfortunately for Rocket fans, Hakeem only tried half of this season. He truly is a poor sport, but at least this whiny ass, overpaid b**** will get the Rockets a good draft pick next year. Next year Hakeem- GOOD RIDDANCE!!!!!!! ------------------ [This message has been edited by Say_Jack (edited April 02, 2001).]
Your post really sucks dude. Nice try but the Hakeem whiny b**** thing is over. Thats all I have to say. ------------------ "Chucky who?" Charles Barkley
What do you say about a player who makes 16+ million a year, and then only plays when he feels like it? Hakeem was nothing more than an expensive Kelvin Cato this year. ------------------
Some people will really flame me for this, but I don't think the Rockets were too serious about the playoffs. Hakeem and Steve laughing it up on the bench while Phoenix was pulling away. Weird-ass lineups. Losing to a vastly inferior New Jersey team. And I'm not too offended if they say one thing and do another. This draft is deep, deep, deep. Hakeem came back and says he wants to stay to show that he is a warrior; he gives an extra touch of class to the organization. Having him around next year (for not-too-damn-much $$$, I hope) is a good thing. Don't blame the recent sh!tty games on him, please. ------------------
Why? So that they can have the #13 pick instead of the #15 or whatever? ------------------ Boston College - Big East -East Division Regular Season Champs Worst to First in 2001!
Exactly right Roxtia. Hakeem is having a great time, while he eats up the salary cap, and helps the Rockets lose games with his inconsistant attitude. Hakeem has not been a warrior since '96. He is not worth the money anymore, especially because he only comes to play for half the games. ------------------
from what I understand.. if we would have made the playoffs we would have lost our draft pick correct? ------------------ Shane "Save Our Rockets" "Life without basketball in Houston........without an arena that is what it will be"
Saying Dream should not be resigned or even that he's overpaid is one thing, but no one deserves to be called the things you called him (ok, Cato and Pip excluded), let alone a legend. Many posters on this BBS owe much of their love for basketball to this man (including myself) and I take it personally when you degrade a man of his character to the level you just did. I'm know you're mad about the Rockets' misfortune this season and all, we all are, but thats no excuse for your tasteless words. Well, if they don't make the playoffs, don't they get to keep ALL of their picks in a deep draft? ------------------ Time is a great teacher-- only problem is it kills all its pupils. PowerbizOnline.com
I agree with Azim. It seems people like you only think for the moment and never bother to reflect on what this man has done the last 2 decades. Do you even know this man on a personal level? I doubt it. With that said: In regards to his play this season, I personally can say I understand the difficulties he had earlier on. I've played competitive basketball since I was very young and I know only too well how a negative situation can hamper both your concentration and desire. I'm not justifying his bad play early, but what I'm saying is there must've been a reason. This man has displayed a high level of class and integrity over the years and I'm not ready to forget that so that I can make baseless assumptions. One word for you Jack: EMPATHY. ------------------ dude.. I'm peakin' tacoz!
Are you a Rockets fan? How can you slam Dream like that? I wouldn't play either if I was going to risk serious injury. I don't care how much $ he's making. Did you expect him to play through his injuries and risk further damage? That'd be dumb. ------------------ "...just because a clever person can complicate the discussion about the truth doesn't necessarily mean he or she is making any progress in finding it."

Don't try to argue with this troll.. Just SAY_JACK_A$$ ------------------ Respect Hakeem's legacy. A championship in the hand is worth two in the bush!!
Complain all you want, but the FACT remains the same- Hakeem plays well WHEN HE WANTS TO, and sulks like a baby when he does not get his way. When a man earns over 16 million a year, while children starve in his native land, I can only ask... WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY??? ------------------
Say Jack, it sounds to me like your the "whiny ass" b****. Also, i know where you got the idea for your moniker, but you will NEVER be Heypartner! And in the same way "Hakeem should not be allowed to wear [a] rocket's uniform," you should not be allowed to post your "b****-ass" posts. Another one like this, and you will be a troll in my book! certain people seem to enjoy posting controversial topics to get attention and what not. i am of the opinion that this was one of those occasions. i would also like to say that i think with out hakeem we would not have come as close to making the playoffs as we did. and props to hakeem for giving in to the black socks. i hope he comes back next year. ------------------ make it stop.

Hey, look at it this way. By dropping, maybe we can take the 2 extra balls we get in the lottery and give them to Cato. ------------------
