Aside from the great play this preseason, I am really inspired by the hustle showed by the Dream. If anyone watched last nights game he got like 5 rebounds in the first few minutes and got offensive rebounds in the first two possessions. He was running the floor very well and still can get to the foul line. Even though this is the pre-season I think some people may owe the dream an apology for his "fire is gone" comments and that he is playing for a paycheck. He played with strong consistency for many, many years till 1997. Then in 1998-1999 he played every game and made third team all-NBA averaging 18 pts and 9 rebounds plus top five in blocks. I feel for Hakeem and his small injuries that are occuring and I think Rudy is being overly safe. But do you see how he's not demanding the ball and how he is instead rebounding and trying to score within the flow of the game. He is always looking to pass out of the middle and has been doing a great job of it this preseason. He is the epitome of a well rounded team player and I hope him the best for this year. I think if he is healthy we can have a great year. You see the way he positions himself in the lane to get rebounds? He was getting every rebound for the first few minutes. And that is going against 6'11 Rasheed, 6'11 Dale Davis, 6'8 Pippen and 6'8 Smith....thats a big, great rebounding lineup. I for one am proud of Dream and think that with the heart he is showing in a preseason game, some of the people on this BBS owe Dream an apology for their derogatory comments regarding his will to win and desire. I'm only 24, but have been watching the Rockets for most of my life, and I think many people began watching the Rockets in the late 90's when Barkley and Pippen came. Dream was on the decline, so all they see is an overpaid, injury prone, overrated old man.
    I guess I feel differently.

And for those of you who stated he should have retired to help the Rockets, his salary cap space would not have been available anyway to use till next year.

Apologies anyone?? Don't be shy now, we all know who the Hakeem bashers are? Time to show your faces.....
