Uh...they can't play VH can they? Would be cool if they do.

Maybe the rest of VH should get with them...Sammy can keep Dave in check.

Sammy: "Eddie wants you to come to me with any problems your having. He doesn't want you to talk to him directly or refer to him in interviews."

They can room together separate from Van Halen.

Dave has crappy music and I have heard some of his recent shows have sucked. Honestly, I wouldn't know since he left VH.

On another note, anyone see the tornado which just hit Fort Worth. Ummm....it just missed me to the east .

You know the first conflict will be who opens and who closes the show. I hope they don't just sing Hagar and Roth songs. Can you imagine a whole concert of "I can't drive 55" "mas tequila!" and "I'm just a gigalo, zippity bop!"?

I saw David Lee Roth a year or so ago and he played a lot of the old VH ****.

His solo career was horrible! The guy just sucks at writing songs. Why do you think he made VH do all those cover songs during his tenure?? Eddie fuc@ing hated it.

I will admit that the dude has great stage presence......

I wouldnt think they could do the VH songs could they??

On a side note I see Sammy is wearing a "Cabo Wabo" t shirt which is a club once owned by Sammy and members of VH. I visited the club about 10 years ago while on a cruise and Cabo was a port of call. It was pretty cool although I do not know if Sammy and VH still own it together.

I did read over at CNN that they would probably play some VH songs. They talked as if they would each have their own shows and be competing to see who could blow who off the stage. I don't think they have decided who would go on first.

They mentioned that alot of old VH songs would be played and I guess there is no issue over rights since DLR was a co-founder of VH back in the day.

I bet they probably play some songs together. I agree the prospect of listening to DLR ramble off solo stuff like "I ain't got nobody...nobody", "Well...east coast girls are...blah blah blah", and that one song with Steve Vai in the band where he plays that ugly ass guitar in that video......makes me shudder in fear(run away...run away).

I'm not exactly thrilled at hearing Sammy sing songs like "Three Lock Box", "I can't drive 55", and "Cabo Wabo" either. I wonder if Sammy gets to play the later VH songs he was a part of...maybe so?

Maybe they should bring back Downtown Julie Brown to go on the road as guest DJ for MTV. :p

I don't see why they can't sing any song they want to. I was at a Smashmouth concert and they covered "Running With The Devil". Very well, I might add.

Hell yes they can and will play tons of VH songs.

Roth wrote every lyric to every VH song while he was in the band. I'd say he's not too bad.

It kind of makes the remaining members of VH seem irrelevant now if they can play every song. I'm sure both can find an adequate replacement on guitar to do the Eddie thing. Eddie's a great guitarist but there are plenty of guitarists out there who can play his stuff...maybe not write it...but play it. I wonder if DLR will lure Steve Vai back...he could handle Eddie's stuff easily.

Remember all the rumors about DLR getting back with VH? I guess that's not happening(as if we ever really thought it would). There were rumours last year of DLR and VH in the studio but I guess that doesn't translate into a tour or getting back together again.

It's great that DLR and SH will team up. Now, we don't have to wait on VH to find another singer or get their crap together. Seems like they've been on hiatus forever although I know Eddie was fighting cancer(but he is supposedly cancer free now). Will VH ever be heard from again? Or are they content just doing their own thing in their own studio? Guess it doesn't matter if we have DLR and SH to play all their stuff now . :D

Van Halen should just have both of them as lead singers, that would be pretty cool.

Also, I think I'm the only who liked them better with Sammy.

They're smart to do this tour now before Gary Cherone decides to do a solo tour and steal their audience.

    Just got this from hardradio.com:

"The joint headlining tour will feature each artist alternating the opening slot each night and will feature the two of them jamming for the nightly encore. It wouldn't be out of the question to see VAN HALEN's Michael Anthony also appear on stage during the encore on a few occasions."
