Luckily, there were no tears, but there was extensive debribement and decompressing. 4 hours after surgery, I was in physical therapy...THAT WAS PAINFUL!!! All in all, I'm pretty sore, but glad I'm on my way to being able to play ball with my kids without pain. These are some pics my doc gave me.
Oh yeah, sorry. I hurt my shoulder and the doc saw I had arthritis, some impingement(pinching) and a possible rotator cuff tear through an MRI. Luckily, there was no tear, but he had to debribe (scrape) quite a bit of tissue off to clean up the shoulder joint. I'm not sure what the bacon picture is, or any of the others for that matter. Doc was in another surgery before I could speak to him. I'll find out on monday
I hope you have a good and speedy recovery. I'm having UPPP surgery one Wed. and I am nervous as hell.
UPPP = Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty They are going to remove my tonsils, uvula, and part of my soft palate. I will more than likely have and I quote "the most severe sore throat of my life" for no less than two weeks maybe even up to a month or a little more and will have to be on a soft food diet (nothing firmer than mashed potatoes) for about a months as well. The surgery is to eliminate/reduce 3 things: 1. Snoring 2. Frequent sore throats 3. My uvula swells sometimes and rests on the back part of my tongue and actually comes up in my mouth and it makes it very difficult to breathe/swallow. It's got me real nervous.
Sorry, when I first read your piece, and saw you had no tears, I assumed you meant it wasn't painful. Then I realized you meant a muscle tear. Either way, I used the "no more tears" (as in muscle tear) shampoo, and Ozzy had a song called "no more tears. Stupid humor, I know. Isn't that what this hangout is for? Hope you're feeling better, buddy.
Really? I found it very useful when I subluxated my shoulder. I didn't have surgery or anything, but it sucked pretty hard. I liked going to physio.
I'm just going through range of motion therapy right now, but it is pretty grueling. No strength training yet.
I'm fixing to go to a physical therapist for this. What do I have to look forward to? or not look forward to?
Sorry for asking this question on the BBS but I tried to call my doctor but nobody answered so I guess it's closing time. I have the worst pain in my head and neck area and I've tried to let it go away but it's been going on for about 4 hours now. I remember them saying something about not taking certain pain medication before surgery. I know aspirin is one I cannot take for sure but I'm not sure if there are others. Can I take Aleve, Tylenol, etc.?
