You don't know how to read this, do you? The fact that the pound is worth double the dollar is embarrassing. I treat Euros as I would beanie babies.
Hear, hear. When the dollar takes a dump I get killed. I get paid in dollars but I live in the land of skekels, so when I was 95% sure the Fed was going to cut the interest rate I dumped it all on sterling, euro and gold futures. Happy dollar-devaluation and inflation.
ummm...I'm Canadian. How exactly am I misreading this? 1 US Dollar = less than 1 Canadian dollar means that my money is worth more...no?
It might be worth more on the exchange rate but your dollar might not procure as much in goods and services due to your higher tax rate, and higher cost of living. You probably have to spend a significant portion of your annual income just on parkas and bad beer.
There's two sides to that valuation coin. Who's your biggest trading partner? What happens to your product and service sales when they cost more to the customer? [Ha! Ha!]

True, but Vancouver is still one of the best cities in North America. I think its in the top 3 after NYC, and San Fran.
I love that place, my grandmother lives there. It would be nicer to visit when the dollar is worth more like in recent years.
