So I go into a bathroom at work. At the same time, another guy walks in and heads to one of the urinals. Does his business, then goes and proceeds to lather up and wash his hands for 20 seconds before leaving. Question, how dirty are you that you have to soap up and lather and rinse for 20 seconds just from that 3 seconds that your hand makes contact to shake pull, shake and put back in? and how did I know that he took 20 seconds? Because I had to weash my hands that long also or I woulda looked like a dirty person specially since I worked with him. cmon now...
if you dont wash your hands for at least 15 seconds, then you arent doing any good and might as well not wash them at all.
If I had OCD, I'd make sure to wash 20 seconds before I wiz. And probably 20 seconds after and after and after and after and after and after and after.
How is that excessive? You're supposed to wash your hands for 20 seconds, or longer. Of course I rarely follow that rule myself, but then again I don't have any junk to touch when I'm relieving myself.
I understand how important it is to get everyone elses urine on the handle at the last second when it is fresh and then apply to your personal urine. That is a complete cycle and you are awarded extra points.
His hands may have been dirty before he went in there. I don't think 20 seconds is excessive. Now what I think is odd are the people who pretend to was their hands. I've seen it quite often. I leave the urinal and at the same time some guy leave a stall after taking a dump. He gets to the sink first and I go to one next to him, he turns the water on. Puts his hands near the water and then pretends to get some soap. He acts like he washing them and then grabs a towel to dry off his dirty dry hands. I don't get it, if you're going to go through the motions why not just do it?
It sounds like he's just making a point to show you that he washes his hands so you don't get the impression that he's a filthy slob.
I find 20 seconds a little long. Is it that big of a deal to wash that extra 5-10 seconds? No. But neither is it to not. Your hands likely get more dirty doing everyday stuff. So if he's washing his hands just because he's in the bathroom, might as well wash up for the piss he just took + the last few hours of living, then 20 seconds make sense.
Has anyone intentionally missed the urinal when you're the only one in the restroom? I hear people do that.
I'm OCD about not drying my hands. For some reason I always have to leave the bathroom with wet hands. Unless there's a blow dryer for your hands, those are so much fun. One time I used one in Arkansas that had the most powerful blast i'd ever seen. Of course, I took pictures of myself blowing air into my mouth. God you can have so much fun in the bathroom.
It doesn't matter how long you wash your hands if you go out and touch the door knob to the bathroom.
