Guy Fieri backs lawsuit challenging outdoor dining closure

On Sunday, celebrity chef Guy Fieri tweeted his support for a lawsuit in Los Angeles challenging the new outdoor dining ban.

"We gotta keep Flavortown open for biz!" wrote Fieri, sharing a link to a story on the issue.

"It’s so hard to remain closed when I don’t feel it will make a difference re COVID19 cases," wrote one LA small business owner. "My brewery/restaurant is losing $30k/week and we’re just a mom and pop. We can’t sustain that for even a few short weeks without more $$ from SBA or PPP."

Fieri is a goofball, but he's an awesome dude. "Diners..." is one of my preferred background tv shows, I'll start paying attention if they're cooking something interesting, have learned some cool stuff that way.

That said, you could never in a million years get me to go to one of his restaurants.

Oh, and @tinman, since you are obviously concerned about the food service industry, I highly recommend you donate to Houston chef Chris Shepherd's Southern Smoke Foundation.

Yeah, they've been around a while and do good things; helped out a coworker of my brother with medical bills a few years ago.

Don't go into the French Laundry thread,

it's a bunch of people who think the best meal in their life is from the Kemah boardwalk.

They don't know David Chang or Thomas Keller.

    Their favorite chef is Boyardee

So you don't bat an eye with unlimited campaign donations from corporations to politicans but 58 dollar donations from individual citizens to campaigns is a grift.

God damn people are pathetic at evaluating reality.
