Salt Lake City though.... In all seriousness, I don't care for guns, but stories like these are what makes me glad they are available to the public
In 2010, according to the UNODC, 67.5% of all homicides in the United States were perpetrated using a firearm. There were 14,748 homicides in the United States in 2010. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_in_the_United_States#Homicide Firearm homicides in US 2010 - Number of deaths: 11,078 http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/homicide.htm
Those homicide victims should have armed themselves. How do you expect to return fire after someone kills you if you're not armed?
Where are the statistics on the number of murders committed by law abiding citizens that would obey a law that outlawed guns?
Nobody is outlawing guns, just reinstating bans on assault rifles and high capacity magazines. Handguns are a bigger concern, but are pretty much a lost cause.
Meanwhile, 30 people were murdered and 162 wounded yesterday, plus dozens more suciides(presuming it's an average day) so...there's that!
