i have a 310 taylor guitar - recently, i found a small crack down the middle of the back - about 1 mm in width and 3.5 inch long. can i still sell the guitar (want to get a 800 series) with decent value? and if not, can something like that be fixed?

that is a super long crack! How did it happen? Did you bump it against something or just store it in a place with the wrong temperatures or something?

cur.ve...if you are in Houston I can recommend a shop that will fix it well for a reasonable price. Let me know.

thanks guys, i'll snoop around the net for some more information to see what's the best way to go about this - worst case, i'll go to taylor although they are way too expensive for me. i actually stored it at a friend's place while i was away on a trip and supposedly he left it near a tv/heater or something like that. i'm kinda bummed about it cause this was my first real guitar...

rocketman tex, i'm in nyc, but thanks for the offer!

cur.ve I too am in NYC. I've got a great guy that works out of his apt in the Village that does great work at reasonable prices.

He restored one of my old Ovations that I thought I was going to have to trash. Had it done in one weekend and only charged me $35.

Email me off line if you want his number.
