This game has gotten so Huge I'm surprised. I own a Nintendo Wii which I seldom play because of time but I'm thinking about getting it. I never knew it was so big until my employee came up to me and randomly started talking about it because he was going to some tournament against other players & if he won he was going to get a round trip some where in the US I think.. I decided to go to Walmart to see what the cost was and what this game was like & to my surprise again I saw a whole section dedicated to Guitar Hero alone for every game system out there. I was tempted to purchase it but I don't know if it's one of toughs games that require a lot of time or is it casual play? & is it really that good? Thanks
I think that Rock Band is better as there is WAY more music. There are plenty of times where I need a break from working or whatever and I jam out for a while.
Rock Band does have a nice selection of music, but the GH instruments are better imo. I have GH 1, 2, 3, World Tour, Aerosmith and RB1. Add in a third party guitar(the Flying V one) and I can just switch from one game to the other without ever taking the guitar off. It is alot of fun for someone that enjoys music. MikeHunt, not everyone WANTS to learn the real thing...they jsut want to play a game with music. I have known how to play a real instrument for years....but it doesnt take away from my enjoyment of the game series.
I was to until I found out that you can't import it into World Tour. I hate the idea that I can't have all the music at once. That's the other reason I like Rock Band so much.
Rock Band is a lot better than World Tour IMO... But for me... I still love GH2 the most. Great setlist. I can play many of those songs over and over again. 5-starring every song on expert gets you a guitar that looks like a log.
There's a lot of GH deals right now. GH Aerosmith+wired guitar for 10 bucks at Gamestop. They also have GH3 standalone for 10 too. Both are 360 versions
As someone who plays real guitar, I think it's somewhat a waste of time, you could spend countless hours playing this game when you could be spending that time practicing on a real guitar, which no doubt is much more impressive. The concept is not that fun either, you press the right buttons and the song plays without any hiccups and you gain points...i just dont see the point, I understand if the buttons you press actually create the melody. Oh well that's just my take, flame on!
They are fun, especially at a party or something. People that don't play video games will play. The full band version is something girls like to play too, with the microphone. Basically it becomes Karaoke with "instruments". Its especially fun after a little alcohol has flowed.
as someone who plays real basketball, I think it's a somewhat waste of time to watch it on TV. You could spend countless hours watching this game when you could be spending that time practicing how to shoot and dribble, which no doubt is much more impressive. The concept is not that fun either, you sit in front of the couch and press buttons on a remote without any hiccups and you gain a bunch of weight...i just don't see the point, I understand if the remote you press actually improves your basketball knowledge or skill. OH well that's just my take, flame on.
