this sounds sick, I don't know how many people suffer from GH-Addiction, but this sounds like its going to take it to a whole new level.

I wonder how it will work tho, with all 4 needing to read the notes on screen (if in person and not online) and I hope they don't go through with having to buy other songs online, part of the joy of completing songs on expert was to be able to buy new songs using the game's points rather than money out of your own pocket.

Its one thing to feel early arthritis creeping in, as well as hours wasted and eyes with blurred colors, but to also go broke will make this the least healthy game ever.

LOL. After I spent a weekend playing Guitar Hero II a few weeks back, I had this same exact idea. It's just the logical evolution of the genre. I would so rock at the drum part.

    FRACK !!!!

I love creating something unique only to have large companies ignore NDAs and make the game we were going to make all along.

    AWESOME !!

Next thing you know they will be creating a GTA style of world where the instruments are weapons.......which was part of our concept too.

    Got to love it.

Johnny Whatever was EXACTLY this.....in 2004.........MOTHER FRACKERS !!!!

If we hadn't sold the rights to Gizmondo I would be all over suing the HELL out of MTV right now......GRRRRRRRRR

How weird that this would come up now. I played GH2 yesterday for the first time, and loved it. The thing that kept going through my head as I played was this would be great if I could play the drums instead of the guitar. I had to settle for having my 6 year old bang my cousins drumsticks together while I played.

No, but we did have a signed NDA with MTV who basically stole our concept and took it to harmonix after we sold to Gizmondo.

Gizmondo could have sued MTV and won MILLIONS but the crooks running the danged company are too busy hiding out...

Meanwhile us developers who came up with the ground breaking game play just get to sit back and watch others reap the rewards of our efforts.

    YEAH !!!!

They are still only going about 60% of the way....we had tons of instruments- band play, studio play (where you could record your own tracks) and also a 3d story world where the instruments were actually magical weapons as well.

Dang.....first we lose to the Jazz, then it is rumored that V-Span is leaving and a final kick to the Nads about this....

Not a good way to start the week.

New company is in money raising stages, it is going slowly.

But having perhaps your best game concept stolen out from under you is not a good feeling.

ROFL. DaDa, I came up with the same damn concept after playing GH2 for like 5 seconds. It's hardly novel; it's the next logical step.

Now, my cops vs. criminals MMO game... THAT was stolen from me (for the upcoming game APB). I had that idea years ago!

I'd imagine that DaDa had gone beyond daydreaming and drafted documentation and designs for the game. That's a lot of work, it does suck if the idea is stolen. We probably won't know if it is indeed stolen until we find out more on the game and see how similar it is to his work.

In 2004, we were in negotiations with MTV to make:

Johnny Whatever Select the video link to get the idea.

When Gizmondo bought us and had us start making it for the Hand held only...MTV took the concept to Harmonix and showed it to them....they then took their engine and created Guitar Hero.....

It was our concept, we created, we have a working version/demo that was developed more than a year before Guitar Hero.

Our stuff was stolen, ripped off, bamboozled......

Big difference than coming up with just an IDEA.

I played a drum game (Drum Mania?) at Putt Putt the other day and was surprised how fun it was.

I have played GH2 a few times at my brothers and loved it. I wish the new generation systems (PS3, 360, and Wii) didn't come out. I like playing video games on my PS2, but I don't play enough to warrant getting a new system. Now with the new systems there will be hardly any new games for PS2. :(

That's tight. The only video game I play nowadays is Guitar Hero (I & II). Coolest idea for a game ever. I don't know about the mic part, but I'd love to see the drums incorporated.

Yeah, we did ok in the Gizmondo deal but ultimately the CEO and board members stole $50 million and sunk the company, leaving the Intellectual property in limbo.

Gizmondo could sue MTV, but not me.....

In college back in the early 80's I used to eat raw cookie dough for breakfast. I never thought of putting it in ice cream.

    Damn you Dairy Queen.
