A while back a couple of you guys (Jeff?) mentioned a great place in the Heights that repaired guitar amplifiers. Could someone please re-post their name and number? Or any good, trustworthy amp repair guy.

OAN, I looked for a place to search old posts but I didn't see where you could do that. Is there a place to search for old posts in this BBS?

    Thanks!

Search function is turned off due to the high strain it puts on the already overtaxed server.

The name of the place is Allen Speaker Repair and the tech's name is Hoss. It's on either 19th or 20th street just west of Shepherd. Warning - Hoss really only likes to work on old Fender amps. He's somewhat less enthusiastic and handy around oher amps. For example, my silverface Deluxe Reverb sounds great, but he wasn't able to do much with my 70s Sound City Head.

I've only needed guitar repair since I moved back, but I use Lone Star Guitar in South Houston, and they've been fantastic. I'm pretty sure they repair amps as well. They are located on College Ave. off I-45 south near Hobby Airport. Phone number is 713-946-8120. They've done fret dressings/setups on two of my guitars, and they nailed my specs right on the money. If they repair amps as well as they repair guitars, you will be in good hands.

The amp in question is a 70's era Fender Twin so hopefully it will be right up his alley! Thanks!

I've had good luck with the amp guy at Rockin Robin on Shepherd at Richmond...
