wouldn't matter... I think a sniper's bullet would pierce a bp vest... and I doubt the sniper is aiming for the chest... probably a head/neck shot
that b*stard! going for the easy shot...I wish they'd hurry up and get this b*stard! I hate seeing the news stories of no one going out, etc... the outdoor cafe's business hurting, people afraid to pump gas!! coward, shoots from hundreds of feet away, b*stard!! argh!
yes and no. It doesn't always depend on the round, rather the particular projectile (bullet) being used in that round. I've seen a few mentions of "pieces" of bullets in a few of the news stories. That indicates that these bullets are fragmenting on impact. Probably a lighter bullet fired at higher velocities. If he sticks with that MO, they probably won't pierce a decent BPV. He can certainly change his MO, but then shot placement will become much more important. A bullet designed for piercing BPV's won't do nearly as much damage if it passes through someone without hitting vital organs.
Why do you say that? Because that guy is dark? I think they're totally different. I'm not positive, but I don't think the Guardian Angels are a black only group. I don't think they're like that. 8 replies and not one of you has anything positive to say? I think what they're doing is pretty ballsy and they can wear clown suits as far as I'm concerned.
gr8-1, I agree. Fair play to these guys for trying to let people carry on as normal. The kind of lunatic that is shooting random people with a rifle probably delights in seeing the disruption and fear that they have caused.
The Guardian Angels in Chicago are of all types. To me, here, they're badasses who hang out on the subway platforms after midnight keeping people safe. The Red Line after midnight is sometimes less than user-friendly... cheers to them.

Damn, I don't know. I'd feel like **** if somebody who was pumping my gas got shot. Like my life is more valuable than his or something? I guess if that's what they want to do, I should let 'em do it. But, I think I'd have a hard time living with myself after that.
I saw something that said the guardian Angels had the area around the gas stations completely staked out. I'm not saying they are completely safe, but these guys aren't being completely stupid either. In any case, cudos to these guys. Another example of real Americans stepping up.
I was in the Baltimore/Washington DC area last weekend. The sniper is dominating the news and people's thoughts like you wouldn't believe. This and other things are examples of people in the area coming together to help each other through the fear that is gripping them. I applaud the Guardian Angels and other people who are walking children to school, etc. The only way to beat terror is to stare it in the eye. Embrace your fear and turn it to your advantage.
as someone living in DC right now, i can tell you that this has been pretty scary to think about. Everyone is getting scared. I have to really comment these people for doing what they are doing. Although, I kind of agree with DCKid, what makes their life more expendable than mine?? Also, to clarify something from above, the first five shootings were in the head, and the rest have been varied, including the stomach, the head, the chest, and the back.
