Anybody got any good ideas besides the clichéd beer mug/flask ideas? Married guys, what did you get your groomsmen?
I got my groomsmen individual gifts. My best man happened to be my brother, so I got him a tabletop foosball table. Two of my other groomsmen work in their office and love golf, so I got them those office putting sets. You can get them off ebay pretty cheap. My last groomsmen is younger and big into games and it was right before Halo 3 came out, so I just got him a gift card to gamestop to pay for part of it.
My friend gave his groomsmen customized Louisville Sluggers, but they all played baseball together in high school or college.
I looked into those as well and decided it wasn't a good idea for my crop of groomsmen. They can also get expensive after you tack on shipping and engraving.
From the one's I've gotten and given out, I think I liked the engraved flask the best. I gave some very nice mugs with initials engraved. I've also gotten a zippo from another friend. If you want to do different, personalize the gift.
I like the idea of seeking out individual gifts for each groomsman (assuming there arent 15). That way you can get Glenn a vintage Atari with Ms. Pac-Man, and Dave a home-brew kit with over 50 recipes. Just makes it more personal and thoughtful than a generic beer mug. These boys have assumably been there for you through thick and thin, so it means alot to get them something thats personal, individual, and meaningful..... My 2 cents.
My fellow groomsmen and I got badass engraved pocket knives the last time I was in a wedding. That was a pretty good one. It made me wish he's sprung for badass engraved Navy revolvers, but hey.
Yeah, this is my thinking as well. Including ushers, I have 7 total. Some drink, some don't. Some golf, some dont. Some like corporate trinkets, some don't. Getting them all the same thing wouldn't work at all, so I'm trying to get as many varied ideas as I can.
I got all my groomsmen (and the pastor that married us) a really nice set of grilling tools in a metal carrying case. No engraving or anything...but they all cook out frequently, so it was a gift that they all found useful.
