I will not even recap all the threads on how many minutes Griffin will play, but with a budding superstar - what position will he start at (in the Rockets future). We all know that he does not want to play SF.

How do we all know this? He said "I see myself as a power forward." From this you assume he does not want to play SF?

He will grow 3 more inches and add 45 lbs to become our starting 5 :) ;) :)

I'm going for the glory and at 6-10 now and with another 1/2 inch he will be a scoring Theo Ratliff in 3-4 yrs.

    a center!

No matter what happens, you have to put him in the middle to maximize his defense. Screw this talk of who will cover the SFs of the league. Just steer them into Griffin in the middle.

Actually, Griffin has said that he plays like a PF, but he would like to be a SF. Which means he will have to work on his outside shot and dribbling.

I think he will do like Mo does when penciled in at center or Anderson did when switched to SF. He will play it and never say a word. Now in a few years he might have something to say, but not for a while.

Gotta agree with newbie here. I don't see how we can make any assumptions on what he will or won't play. He's 19 and has NO idea what the NBA will be like at this point. His skills are still developing and he doesn't fully understand the NBA game.

Kevin Garnett could play any of really 3 spots on the floor (maybe 4  ) but you don't hear anyone trying to pigeonhole him into one spot. Let Griffin learn and let him play multiple positions.

I'm going with Crispee. He is already a Theo Ratliff clone, but a younger version. He is, however, much above Theo in his first year. He also can shoot and score better than Theo can even now.

Not the ideal center and neither is Theo, but he'll do unless we get lucky and get another pure 5.

I don't see ED playing the 3 spot, his body has yet to develop. I think the Rockets see him as a young Dream with a better jumper. If he grows 3 inches and adds 45 lbs, I can see him being in the 5 spot forever.

Look at his lower body, which could support another 30 lbs easy.

I was puzzled by the Rice trade for this reason.

We're going to let Griffin waste away on the bench for at least 3, 4 years?.

He's 19, and will probably not grow more than an inch. But at 6'10 could be an effective center, if he bulks up some.

Since the minute we got him, I felt Griffin would be our center. He isn't big enough for the center spot traditionally. HOWEVER, who would we have to worry about abusing him, eh? Shaq, 'Zo . . . maybe Dream (if he's playing), maybe Robinson (hahaha, yeah right . . . pansy) maybe Ewing (lol) . . . and that's about it . . . maybe Marcus Camby?

The fact remains, there are very few good centers in the league. I know it's a reach, but I believe we could throw Eddie Griffin in at C right now and he'd be one of the better C in the league -- and that's with the underdeveloped body and all.

    !:D :D Grow, Eddie, Grow!:D :D

P.S. Remember, Hakeem was a quarter inch shy of 6'11" and even now is only 255 lbs.
