NBA All-Rookie First Team. Gasol, the got milk? NBA Rookie of the Year for the 2001-02 season, was the only unanimous selection -- receiving the maximum 56 points -- on the team that was announced today by the NBA. Battier, the sixth selection in last year’s NBA Draft, received 54 points, followed by Richardson with 53, Parker with 48 and Kirilenko with 45. The voting panel consisted of the NBA’s 29 head coaches, who were asked to select five players for the first team and five players for the second team, regardless of position. Coaches were not permitted to vote for players from their own team. Two points were awarded for first team votes and one for second team votes. The got milk? NBA All-Rookie Second Team consisted of Indiana’s Jamaal Tinsley (43 points), New Jersey’s Richard Jefferson (35 points), Houston’s Eddie Griffin (21 points), Detroit’s Zeljko Rebraca (15 points), Seattle’s Vladimir Radmanovic (11 points) and Phoenix’s Joe Johnson (11 points).
