im not a big laker history conoseir or however you spell that. but magic johnson had an amazing rookie season right, capped off by playing center in the finals against boston, with a hook shot to win the series. so lets say perhaps, that eddie griffin has a season equal or a little lesser than that of magic that season... i mean things happen in the nba, that you dont see coming, remember when iverson first led the sixers to the playoffs, that whole team was bums, except for iverson, the point is you never know the point at which a player becomes a superstar, sometimes it just happens suddenly, without warning, sometimes winning isnt as gradual as it seems. and griffin could be magic right away, francis could be iverson this season, sometimes it just happens like that. so why not believe or hope that happens. why be pessimistic that everything happens slowly and all of this will take ten years? why cant our team blow everyone away next season, or at least make the playoffs. i know we wil at least make the playoffs. and maybe francis is iverson next season, maybe griffin is magic his first season. why not? being a sports fan, is all about waiting for things like that to happen. i hope ive made my point. anything can happen at any time, and i think that even if it doesnt, the playoffs are next year for us...
Don't let swopa hear that! he'll bust out the page long stats of how much "better" the warriors are when hughes is playing compared to when he isn't.
Yes, Cat, It would look like it, but I'm not trying to prove a point here in this thread. Lil' Francis is. Yet Lil' Francis says nothing to back his point up. You definitely know what I am talking about.
wow. thanks for improving the quality of this thread. ..not that it was that great in the first place. McCormick Vodka + Clutchcity.net = making unintelligent threads i dont recall making
I don't think it's fair to think anyone will ever have the impact Magic Johnson did in his first season. He was just one of a kind. For one, he was a sort of a freak, being 6'9" and playing point guard. Beyond that, he was also a freak for how smart he was. He just had the whole package, and I don't see anyone else ever being able to accomplish what he did so quickly. But yeah, Griffin could have a great rookie season and be Rookie of the Year, we shouldn't rule that out.
