Hello, I realize it is very early in the NBA season development of EG. I also have not really seen him play. I have just seen his "lines" on box scores. Tonight's box impressed me -- not only his numbers but also because he achieved them against a quality contender - SA. Realistically, with Thomas being injured, will he start? He certainly demands playing time. Damn, I'm excited. What do you members think>
There is no problem starting Griffin, although I read that Thomas will be fine. Even if Griffin does not start he certainly is laying claims to 20 - 25 minutes a night. This Griffin thing is pretty funny. We were on the chat and guys started calling EG lazy. He just fools you like that and he may have given Duncan and Rob the same impression. All of a sudden Duncan was being manhandled by wonderboy EG, block after block. Do not let the looks fool you.
I'm very impressed with Griffin. With playing time he will only improve. I believe he should start over Thomas. Thomas has been pretty good, but Griffin, with time, will prove to be much better. Griffin was holding his own with 6 blocks against the twin towers tonight. That's impressive.
Wow. Very impressed with Griffin. He even held his own during spurts against Robinson. Defense is awesome!
and remember, Griffin only got like 25 minutes. 6 boards in 25 minutes in unreal. He should be taking the majority of the minutes, no way KT would of brought that kind of impact to the game. Rudy has to build on this momentum and keep either Griffin/Morris in the game. Wait until Griffin shakes off the jitters, and explodes on the offensive end. WHERE IS THAT JACKSTRAP DUDE, claiming that the Rockets cannot compete with any of the western teams.
Yeah Crash, I am so excited about the game that I typed boards, instead of blocks. The boards are great, but 6 blocks in limited minutes is incredible. I think the team we had on the court tonight, could easily win 50+ games.
I saw the game tonigh, and let me just say that Griffin was great. Got some shot blocks a couple of points. I think Griffin is better then that #1 draft pick Kame Brown. I haven't seen that guy do nothing, it's all Jordan in Washington. I thought it will be Brown and Jordan doing everything, but instead is just Jordan. Anyways Kame Brown better watch out because Griffin is way better then him. Already I see Griffin getting the Rocky of the Year Award.
I guess all those people were right about Griffin being too weak to play the 4 in the big bad Western Conference.
Maybe. I still think Battier has the upper hand for rookie of the year with as much playing time as he's going to get. Battier will probably average around 15 ppg, 7 rpg, 2 spg, 4 apg, 1.5 bpg, and 12 charges taken per game. I don't think Eddie will beat that, but hopefully he'll prove me wrong.
Griffin won't get big time minutes to start the season because he is still getting his wind. Did anyone see him waiting for a free throw in the 3rd quarter sucking wind? Man, he looked WORN out. He'll get his legs in a few weeks and he will be a load of fun to watch.
This season is going to be so much fun, regardless of the final record (although don't get me wrong; I still have high expectations and will be extremely disappointed if we miss the playoffs yet again). But to watch this young athletic team take off will be a blast (sorry for all the cheesy Rockets metaphors; not trying to pull a Blinebury) and Eddie is at the core of that excitement. It's going to be so great to watch this team mature and really dominate in a couple years.
