I'm at work so I haven't seen a minute of the game, but EG has 19 points (7-9 FG, 3-3 3pts.), 8 boards, and 2 blocks at half. 53-51, LA. Maybe Griff read what Ric Bucher wrote... Let's hope it's a harbinger of things to come.
I think that rebound number is low. It is very refreshing to see a Rocket's big man with normal sized arms and hands be able to grab the ball.
Shove that up you a$$ ESPN!!! Big dissapointment my a$$!! I'm sorry 25 pts on 10-14 shooting, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks is sooooo dissapointing!! HAHAHAHAHAHA, GO EDDIE!!!!
Against the world champs, no less. Too bad the Lakers seem to be going on one of their back-breaking runs right now... 80-66. I'm not watching the game, but I'm guessing Robert Horry and Samaki Walker are catching most of the abuse.
Now if only the kind of intensity and play they had in the first half could have continued into the third, then the Rocks would be right there and we could have a major upset on our hands. Even though we are down 14 going into the last, I believe we can still win this!!! Refuse to give in, and NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE HEART OF A CHAMPION!!!
... only 6 points in the second half though, including 0-4 3ptrs. but final numbers: 25 pts. (10-18 FG, 3-7 3pts.), 13 boards, 4 blocked shots. I think Griff has arrived.
Moochie is going to drive me insane. He goes over the pick by Griffin, and then for some inexplicable reason, he ignores Griffin and drives right into the heart of the defense, and if we're lucky he'll dish it off to be bobbled by Arr, Arr, Arr. It is enough to make me pull my hair out in clumps.
I was at the game and was paying especially close attention to Griffin. Dude was en fuego in the first half. However, I really, really don't like seeing him put up that many 3's. We don't need another Robert Horry (offensively). What I liked from him offensively was when he hit some mid-range jumpers, finished some plays down low, and even took his man off the dribble once. He's also very active without the ball...always running hard down court and cutting to get open. Although his offense was nice, it was his defense and rebounding that REALLY made me happy. Like people have said before, Griff was getting his hands on almost every ball down there. He could have easily have gotten 20 boards if a couple of bounces had gone his way. He was very active without the ball defensively, too. I actually would like to see him even more active, maybe taking some more gambles. It's amazing that he played such great D and was foul-free until near the end of the game. It's really too bad that we lost this game despite the great effort. We just had too many bone-headed plays down the stretch. Oh, and we really need to can the dribble for 20-23 seconds and jack up a shot offense. It doesn't seem to work nearly as well in the game as it does on the chalk board.
