anybody else heard of this it's a combo recordingby DJ Danger Mouse using the music and beats of the Beatles White album and the lyrics of Jay Z's Black album however EMI have banned it as they are not giving permission for the Beatles stuff to be used try http://www.greytuesday.org/ to find out more and download it
I thought it was pretty good. Some of the crappy tracks from Black album, like that stupid "change clothes" song, are far more bearable. Overall I would compare it favorably.
There's quite a few remix versions of the Black Album: The Grey Album The Brown Album (Mixed by Kevin Brown) The White Album Some mroe I think, but I can't remember them.
I finally got around to finding and listening to this. All in all I like what I've heard. I also found this video clip from DJ Danger Mouse showing how he put the album together. http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1485693/20040311/jay_z.jhtml?headlines=true
i thought it was brilliant and very well done. and i never listened to jay-z till i heard this. but now im an album purchasing fan of his solely b/c of the danger mouse record. hopefully jay sends danger mouse a christmas card or something.
Very excited about this, have listened to a few songs and it sounds great. This is one of my all time favorite albums. I remember being really excited for this project, Jay-Z is my favorite rapper of all time and The Beatles are my favorite rock group of all time, but this just didn't work well. It wasn't terrible, but not iPod worthy.
