Honestly I'd either take the chance on Bynum OR possibly take a chance on Oden. Yes I know Oden is coming off his 4th or 5th knee surgery but if we can't get Orlando to play ball I'd be willing to take a chance, maybe 2 years with a team option for the 3rd year at the MLE or something close to it. It's not like we're going anywhere fast and he's only 24. http://www.foxsportsflorida.com/07/...seas/landing.html?blockID=759814&feedID=10140
I read somewhere he is going to take the year off to fully recover from injuries. Can't remember where I saw it so not sure if it's true or not.
I thought that was last year. I know at the end of this season there was talk he would sign with the Heat.
Who knows...we might be the ones to get lucky with his physical..."jinx" or whatever it is. Wouldn't it be cool if we signed him and he had no further debilitating injuries...
I remember someone posted and article about him that was really interesting and informative. He was very young when he was plagued with all those injuries, and it pretty much had a negative effect on his mentality. He said he is going to work really hard to rehab the next season, and possibly have a return by the 2013/2014 season. Plus seeing brandon roy make a comeback, im sure that can also motivate him to work harder and make a comeback. Hell, even adam morrison is making his comeback in the summer league.
4 or 5 knee surgeries and only 24! He's had more surgeries than games played. What is Maury waiting for? He would be a steal!
Yeah I'm not expecting him to dominate the league and be the great center he was supposed to be coming out college. I think he's worth a shot if anything. Bulls are apparently leaning on matching our offer so we'd be fresh out of centers. We could just play this year with a full lineup of forwards though.
Yeah I remember reading that too, I think he (along with Roy) blamed Portland's staff for rushing him back or whatever. I would have really loved a chance to take a low risk move on signing Roy to see what he could do on the bball court. Funny thing about Morrison though is he really never had it going, I hope he gets picked up somewhere and actually makes it in the NBA. Whatever happened to Joe Alexander and his famed 42"+ vertical? Is he overseas somewhere?
Have you really seen Brandon Roy make a comeback yet? Or have you just seen him sign a contract and cross his fingers?
