MIP is the dumbest award in sports. sometimes it goes to scrubs who have a good year but usually goes to a future hall of famer who averaged 20 points the year before and gets to 25 ppg.
Very good points. Obviously 41 percent is absurd, but the problem is Sengun is a terrible roller on the PnR. Sengun needs to be consistent with the three ball himself if Jalen is to keep getting the types of looks he’s been getting.
Regardless, this is the by far Jalen’s best start to a season. Hopefully he doesn’t let up. The dude is electric when he’s on.
I expect he will come back down to Earth a bit, but something like .38 on 10+ shots per game would be incredible. For comparison sake, Harden averaged about .36 on 11 shots from 3 in his absolute prime.
stats.nba.com has Jalen with 1 3 point attempt with 4 or less seconds on the shot clock so far this season. https://www.nba.com/stats/players/s...-0+Very+Late&TeamID=1610612745&PerMode=Totals basketball reference has him at 0 “heaves” attempted this season https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/g/greenja05.html Still doesn’t account for end of quarter shots that aren’t “heaves” or end of quarter shots where the shot clock isn’t a factor. I wonder if someone tracks those.
I'm pretty sure that last second heaves do not count negatively as far as percentage. They were actually talking about it this morning on The Starting Lineup.
I’m surprised that we haven’t embraced thinking positively as a community - globally - since research has shown that when people come together and are positive, supportive, pray and or hold a common vision of what they want to see, that it has a positive effect on the larger community. So if we believe and and are supportive, who knows, it might influence other fans and people around you in your life to believe and that might do something for the team as well. Not trying to preach here, I'm also very negative as that is still the tendency, but particularly with this jinx thing is something people still very much believe in related to sports - even though it is about control and has never been proven to do anything as far as I know. At least the positive energy effect has been proven to be a thing, so just saying, we should let go of (control) in the form of a jinx and rather focus on sending a positive energy out there of support that is not necessarily reliant on the outcome, so more letting go of control, but could potentially have a positive effect anyway.
