the girl in pic 7 is a serious fox. we should send some Marines over there and get that sorted for them. I think we have a few on maternity leave that are available.
That's silly. I'm all for protesting and standing up for what you believe in, but there are better ways to do it than to make the place you live in unsafe. Burning innocent people's cars and businesses and attacking police officers doesn't make me have any sympathy. This isn't the way to show support to the dead kid you're rioting for.
Not to make light of these riots, but I couldn't help myself. Leonard "Skywalker" Johnson was often ridiculed by Officer Smith for his efforts to create a lightsaber long enough to cut a building in half. He would soon regret those remarks.
Check out some pics from Guantanamo Bay. http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2008/12/scenes_from_guantanamo_bay.html That paper/website has some serious photographers on staff. If I remember, they also had some amazing pics of Ike too. Some of the best photos I've ever seen.
I think, based on the "Anarchy" picture that these protests are being usurped by other people for their own purposed. IOW, anarchists are using this opportunity to wreck havoc because they can get away with it. I don't think the violence is there for civil disobedience; merely kids using a tragic incident to break things.
Well, I have to say yes and no...Based on the pictures, it seems a bit overboard, but I have to admit, I must have been under a rock as I had no idea about the riots or why they started...
Yeah, and extreme measures come with extreme prices. Too much senseless destruction in my opinion. I do understand though -- this isn't merely about a boy that got shot by a cop (who is in jail). That was just the catalyst that ignited a simmering pot of widespread unemployment, despair and frustration. No matter where you are in the world, when too many people don't have jobs, don't have money and don't have anything to do, this is what happens. It's just a sad situation. Most people just don't have the natural intuition to try to protest peacefully. They always tend towards violence and anarchy.
maybe if they were anti chavez riots, some would be giving them a round of applause. =/ they're really great pictures though.
