My fiance and I found this last night. This might be all speculation, but it is interesting to see if you have the time. The videos may seem a little incoherent, but you can follow it pretty well. I am sure we all remember this game from 2002, and a certain refreneced 2005 playoff series as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRPYjdgStns http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fxw3yxJt2O0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWExLwQenW0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hb2eiC2x9J4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-FoeMQ00s0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egkQPepxv5s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhlGYvIMPgQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVfZ-CU-bx0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpPCKn9ZX3w http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CARPuq4Bew
That isn't even close to "the greatest tradgedy is sports history." Not even in top 100,000 most likely.
len bias edit: followed closely by reggie lewis, drazen petrovic, magic getting HIV, etc. those are what i would call the greatest "tragedies" in sports history..
Not to mention Malik Sealy getting killed by a drunk driver on the way home from KG's birthday party...
Fiance? Congrats Cwebbster. Seemed like it was just yesterday you had that post about the bad breakup.
Lol, good memory. It's funny, the breakup lead into an engagement. We are getting married next NOV! CW FTW!
This is what I didn't get about the Donaughy games. Why influence the outcome? Betters can put money on the total points. So why not simply influence the total points? It would be easy to make it a high scoring affair and exceed the over/under. Why the heck would you mess with an outcome and risk your balls?
The greatest tragedy in sports history is Rafer Alston as the starting point guard for your Houston Rockets. A tragic comedy if you will.
The 1972 Munich Olympics the murder of the Israelis Wrestling team members The Finals of the Basketball, USA vs. USSR. With 3 seconds to go, USA ahead by 1, USSR was inbounding the ball from their end. The Ref kept making USSR to inbound the ball until they score, which they did on the third try.
I think Maurice Stokes becoming paralyzed was the greatest sports tragedy. Second I guess would be Len Bias.
