I gotta go with these, more of the funky variety: Pick Up The Pieces by The Average White Band and Here Comes The Express by BT Express (which also contains a great flute solo) I realize those may be a little old school for some of you young whipper snappers but you don't know what you're missing.
Don't Answer Me - Alan Parson's Project Lily was here - Dave Stewart feat. Candy Dulfer Just the two of us - Grover Washington Your latest trick - Dire Straits Against all Odds - Phil Collins How is that for old school ...
Just a side note ; you know what we need? we need a place to post sound files, like we post picture files so when you come up with a good topic like this we could post the song for folks to listen to ( not copy I guess so we could avoid copywrite issues) Anybody got a way to do this like posting a link to a sound file on a personal web page? (I would need step by step instructions because I don't have a clue how to do that)
You should just run a Clutch City ftp server. Check out http://www.cerberusftp.com/ James Brown - Cold Sweat Lou Reed - Walk on the Wild Side Foreigner - Urgent
Any song by Dave Matthews "Impression that I get" by Mighty Mighty Bosstones As you can see, i am a yougin, otherwise, id be listing some REAL jazz music with a sax.
Wham! feat. George Michael - Careless Whisper close the thread. any further responses are not worthy of George Michael and Andrew Ridgely.
What part of 'step by step" did you miss? LOL! Just clicking on cereberususftp is like greek to me. I'm A Roadrunner - Jr. Walker And The All-stars
amen to "cant you hear me knockin" "brown sugar" too! bobby keys was the bad-ass unofficial 6th member of the stones. he should have gotten more credit than he did. greatest sax player and album - coltrane - a love supreme. what if coltrane had played with wham? he would have been jammin' on careless whispers!
I second that along with: "Naima" by Coltrane "Summertime" by Coltrane "Blue Train" by Coltrane "Song for my Father" by Horace Silver (Joe Henderson's sax solo kicks ass!) "St. Thomas" by Sonny Rollins "Tenor Madness" by Rollins WITH Coltrane That is just a few great jazz ones that I can think off the top of my head
Us and Them -- Pink Floyd Glad to see that George Michael can still get some love. The guy has one of the best voices ever.
I thought that guys legal name was "the other guy from Wham". Learn something new everyday, I guess. Without listing the endless jazz tunes played by the masters, I'd have to 2nd any DMB songs. That guy is an underrated player. Like all the greats, he knows when to play and more importantly when not to play. He knows how to use space during his solos, not just blow fast and loud like so many others. Some of my favs from him are: Seek Up, Live At Red Rocks Proudest Monkey, Live At Red Rocks #41 extended solo, Listener Supported Pretty much anything he's done live.
you win the prize for picking the right one! exactly what I thought of 1979 the sax rules, in fact the sax makes the song
Anything by Karl Denson, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, or Greyboy Allstars. www.karldenson.com www.greyboyallstars.com But isn't the most famous sax solo the one in "Turn the Page?"
