This is for Rockets fans who want facts not fiction

I would never have accomplished what I did if I did not play against Moses ...

    – Hakeem Olajuwon

"I usually couldn't go through Moses, because he was just so strong," Olajuwon said. "So I had to learn to use speed and agility to go around him. That's how I built my game."

Moses helped a skinny, eager to learn Dream along the road to greatness. A great teaching a future great. Hakeem doesn't become the greatest center to ever lace them up without Mr. Malone's help, in my humble opinion.

Wow! Those are a lot of greats!

    Stats don't lie..

    Harden as Rocket: 27.0 ppg. 5.5 rpg. 6.9 apg, 60.5 TS%, 24.9 PER, .227 WS/48
    Moses as Rocket: 26.1 ppg, 15.3 pg, 1.6 apg, 57.8 TS%, 24.4 PER, .192 WS/48

I think objective measures are more accurate than nostalgia.

Harden's not the 2nd greatest Rocket of all time. Heck, for me he's not even in the top 5 greatest Rockets of all time.

But he is the 2nd best Rockets player ever. Those are two different things to me.

40-42 team lead by Moses: Finals
41-41 team lead by Harden: 1st round embarrassment

From those stats it's not clear at all that Harden was better. You're taking tiny edges in win shares and per and saying that means harden is clearly better?

    They also don't include defense.

And I don't think Moses got "fat and happy" after his third year as a Rocket either

Except, objectively Moses played hella defense.
Moses didn't need the ball 60 percent of the time.
Moses didn't stand around doing nothing if the ball wasn't in his hands.
Moses helped his team mates and wanted to win chips, not win shoe contracts.

Moses is a top 20 player in NBA history.

Harden has had some great years but has a long way to go
