I really enjoyed The Mole when it ran on tv. Also liked Last Comic Standing. I think they recently started that again. That being said I haven't watched any reality tv in the past 5-6 years.
It's really hard to go against the show that started it all: Real World. Every season before the Las Vegas season, the season where sex and drinking become the predominate theme going forward, it was all pretty compelling stuff with interesting characters and situations.
If you're counting the Mole in your poll, Big Brother, Survivor and maybe the Amazing Race should be up there too. Flavor of Love and the Bachelor/Bachlorette were/are pretty influential reality tv shows too.
I thought about Flavor of Love also and Reno 911. Survivor, Big Brother and American Idol really didn't interest me for the thread, because then I would also would have had to add Star Search. I also thought about Fear Factor as well. The Mole, to me, was probably the best of the game shows and it was more narrative-based than Talent-centric, if that makes sense.
I used to follow Real World and Road Rules back in its infancy years. Then MTV continued to suck. Also Joe Millionaire was entertaining.
For the most part, I avoid reality shows at all cost; but no Deadliest Catch? Even I can like that and maybe certain other of the survival shows. Ok yeah, I like Yukon Men.
Real World first couple of seasons was great because it was innovative. Though I was a teenager and didn't know **** back in the day, but I loved it.
Cheaters and Cops are the only options in this poll that I've found entertaining. Hahaha. Flavor of Love was hilarious. I remember is season 2 when that woman took a **** on the floor, I think it was during an elimination ceremony or something.
Out of that list, you'd have to give it to The Real World because it was the first. But where's Survivor?
