I haven't seen anyone post a new thread on this now that the CD has dropped, so I figured I'd do the honors . . . I got the CD this afternoon!! WOOHOO, I love it!!! Great to have the full Yao Ming song (I'm going to play it for my class tomorrow), and the rest of the tracks are great! I'd heard some on 610, but not all of them. I like "This is a Song" -- kindof reminds me of the song, "This is the song that never ends" Great job Chance!! I LOVE IT!! Surefire Grammy winner here!! Best CD of this year by far I hope it sells well -- any chance of getting it sold at the Compaq Center?
V, Man what a thoughtful post! It will be sold at Compaq at all of the keosks starting tomorrow (today...what time is it??) We felt sorta gimicky holding back the full song for the CD but in retrospect the label was probably right...make people want it. This is a Song is a cool tune. We are working desperately to get a full major label style of release for it. It will drive you crazy if you listen enough. How did you like the neverending bridge...? Didja find any text easter eggs??? Thanks for grabbing it. I will make the donation to cc.net in your name.
And today I was simply anticipating the latest MacWorld. Who would of thought cdstreet.com could pack so much joy into a little white box. A solid disc, Chance, and the uncompromising Mr.Ryan. Even the mind altering hatred that was evoked by listing Jerry Bruckheimer, was swept away in a vast ocean of Peter Mayhew and Topanga Lawrence-Matthews references. And of course, "everyone on ClutchCity.net" didn't hurt either.
Got mine yesterday. And I must say it rocks. I'm glad to see Gabe Kaplan, Loretta Switt, Fonzie and half the Monkees were of assistance to you guys. I guess seeing the clutchcity.net thank you helps reduce some of the anger of not seeing the "Birthday Song" and "BuckFutter" on the Cd . BTW I really like this is a song. For just being a song about a song about this song it is extremely catchy and I got it stuck in my head. Great Job! CK edit: I'm am listening to it right now. I have just noticed the awesomness of SuperLumberjack.
Kevin and I appreciate you guys...I'm a little antsy about the first, "what the hell was that rubbish" post. But I heard somewhere that not all people like all music.
Let me be the first to say... Don't worry about it. Like you said not everyone likes all types of music. Do you think the members of Creed are secretly holding séances so that Manny's love life will continue to suck, just because he doesn't like them? As much as Manny may feel this is the case I highly doubt that they are(though I don't have solid proof to the contrary) . Your music is pretty specialized. It caters to sports fans(specifically Houston based sports fans) and also to people who like funny songs(and with the subtle nuances in there, they are hilarious). I did not really start this post to give you advice but FWIW my advice is to relax, enjoy yourself and keep making the music you like because there are a bunch of us out there that like it and you never know when you'll pick up a convert along the way. And besides. You can always write Yao Ming Part II and market it to a billion people in China .
I got the CD yesterday and listened to it on the way home from work last night and on the way to church this morning....great stuff! I really enjoyed it. Can't wait for my son to hear the Texans songs...he's gonna love it!
I don't think it is being carried at stores yet, but you can try the link in Chance's signature to find it online. They also sell it at the Laptop during Rocket games.
Sometime between now and the 11th of feb it will be available just about everywhere, Best Buy, Wherehouse, Barnes and Noble, etc... and online at CDNOW, bn, amazon, etc... We get a little more $$ when you buy it through cdstreets (the link form our website) but that doesnt matter at all. If you want it get it wherever yuo are comfortable. Sorry but I'm not going tonight. We were in the studio finishing a new Rockets song and a song called The 80's were Great until 4 a.m. and my wife PROMISED I would get to sleep in. Well she had a tummy ache so daddy took Noah to school at 7 and here I am. Topanga was hot.
