I am legitimately afraid history will repeat itself... https://www.foxsports.com/nba/story...leonard-lamarcus-aldridge-james-harden-051117 What will it take to avoid the fate of being embarrassed by a team missing two stars again? Holdovers from that game include Harden, Gordon, and Capela for a combined 7 for 31, 31 points, 8 assists, 16 rebounds. And D'Antoni was still there back then as well.
I don’t think that’s going to happen here. Harden is playing at a much higher level than 2 years ago, even with some of his playoff struggles. I will say this, though... if it does, you sure as hell better blow this up. I mean everyone.. coaching staff, players, GM... and start over
A lot of similarities. Gut wrenching loss, great shooting team missing best player heading to our gym. Like I said, a rockets loss is expected. D’Antoni had the chance to do something last game and didn’t adjust
I am most worried about is Capela not bringing everything he has for this game, espically against Looney Tunes and Shrek. Paul, Gordon, and Rivers against Curry and Klay is the second concern. Harden playing passive and committing turnovers is third concern Refs and NBA are always a concern in this series.
Seen this story before two years ago... Game 6 at home down 3-2, two all-stars out for the other team... I'm emotionally prepared for a massive disappointment today. I HOPE I'm dead wrong.
The parallels are incredible. Everyone went crazy on Harden after Game 5 because he didnt involve himself in the offense much (when he did, it was just dribble out 20 seconds and then throw up a brick), just like this game 5. We thought it was going to be easy when Kawhi went down, but Harden came out and completely laid an egg in Game 6 (he took 11 shots...). It was so bad we all wondered if he suffered a concussion in Game 5. That was ultimately the turning point for this franchise. Morey knew he needed to get a 2nd star. Harden was sold on the idea too. I think that experience will help us significantly this time. I dont see this team making that mistake again.
Won't lie, this came into my mind too, but this team is much more ready for these kind of games, there's more leadership and talent overall, i can't see that happen again.
I fear lorne, asheley, mudbasket, and peteredXking will make their presence known and clog up the game thread with their wailing and gnashing of teeth
Everything hinges on Harden and rebounding. I'm most worried about Harden and what he does with a double team. As much as I whine about Harden and his portrayal in the media. Game 5 and 6 of that Spurs series has shaken me to my core. I'll never forget it. I always think that type a game is around the corner. I don't care how unfair it is that Clint and CP3 aren't playing up to their ability, I don't care. This is all Harden. He will NEVER be graded fairly so he needs this series win. HE NEEDS IT!! F-ck the fatigue, F-ck the refs, F-ck Ayesha Curry's need to validated by other men besides her husband, F-ck KD's diet right calf muscle. HARDEN NEED TO BALL THE **** OUT!!! If Harden is getting double teamed, pass that sh-t and run to get the ball back!!!
Each day I feel better about game 6 this team is mentally tougher than that 2017 team. Chris Paul has to show up though
Game 6 vs. SA - I think Harden was concussed Game 6 vs. POR - this outcome is scary, and very possible About 50 hours from now, we will know if this is Clutch City or Choke City. Until then, BELIEVE.
Don't worry, we got this. Harden will drop 40, and we win by more than 10. Let's hope that the Rockets give Oracle a memorable farewell in the last game ever played there.
GREAT, btw harden needs to threaten Clint and Cp3 with their asses being traded if they dont show up...he needs to use his leadership!
