You can tell you are on a Rockets board when Olajuwon gets twice as many votes as Kareem.

how is he overrated. for the most point he is the opposite of Shaq. instead of knocking you over he would just shoot over you.

How, the guy only had the most unstoppable shot in the history of the league, is arguably the greatest college basketball player ever.

Do you know they had to outlaw dunking when this guy was in college to give the opposing team a chance at stopping him?

    pgabriel & peleincubus

The 2 of you do know that Kareem was a regular whipping boy for Moses Malone don't you? Moses dominated him when he played for Houston and again when he played for Philly.

Give me a choice of Mo in his prime or Kareem in his prime and I take Mo every single time with out a second thought. Mo was just better period.

Also consider this. When both players were in there prime and after the ABA and NBA merged Mo won three league MVP's to Kareems one.

I love Mo, but no way was he better than Kareem. When Mo was in his prime Kareem was in his mid-30s. We forget how great Kareem was (in the early to mid 70s) because he was still outstanding like 5 years after his peak (match-ups with Moses) and still very very good even 10+ years after his peak (Hakeem/Sampson match-ups). Saying Mo was better than Kareem simply because of their individual match-ups is like saying Shaq was 10x the player of Hakeem because Shaq destroyed him when Shaq played Hakeem while Shaq was at his peak.

Kareem was a 6-time league MVP, 10 time 1st team all-nba, 5 time all-nba defense, 6 time NBA champion--very few players can stack up to that, including, I am sorry to say, every center who has ever played on the Rockets.
