These days there are so many players that can either bring the heat on the offensive side or are defensive/rebounding specialists, but not so many that can play both ends. So, in this thread, let's highlight those Rockets (past or present) with that well rounded game. I know folks sometimes have a tendency to throw out a bunch of names at once. Instead, let's stick to one new player per poster. I'll get it started with arguably the greatest player of all time - DREAM
Dream is a no brainer. I've always said yao is a better defender than given credit for. Vernon, although erractic offensively was a great individual and team defender with rockets. Mcgrady also has to be in the discussion. Although his effort to lockdown wasn't alockdown wasn't always there, when it was, he was a great defender. Mitchell wiggins and mccray were pretty good defenders and solid offensive players too.
I always liked drexler's game. 6.4 board 5.9 asts to go along with his scoring and steals. Not to mention he was pretty good getting blocks for a guard.
if your being sarcastic bout parson..i can tell this dude will be very very very good...if he works on his shooting dude will be a star not to long from now...morey lucky best pick in awhile..he's like rudy gay but taller. man give him a year or 2 it's amazing how to see a rookie steps up and play against 1 of the best players in the league and D up on em. Rookie of the year? Hopefully..he does everything little thing. Lol Rebound, assists, defense, score now. Dude is amazing..Probaly gonna be our superstar on the team soon.
Forgot to add "The Dream" is always the best as a Rocket and best center in the league his jersey lives with us. just like L.A is going to be Kobe to..Looking for a New generation now tho!!!! I like K-Marts game Lee he's good but inconsistent. Martin been in Consistent But I got nothing to say yet until he comes back 100 percent and play. and Defense as well. 2k12 Hes better at Defense Lol. But well see Lee is a superstar in 2k12 as well haha..
Even though it was only for a year, Artest played great on both sides of the ball when he was here. 2nd team all defense and avged 17 pts a game 40% from 3 pt land.
Well, if you're looking for the greatest, then I think Hakeem is the obvious choice. The next best in my opinion would have to be Moses Malone. I've always thought Moses was every bit as good as Hakeem. Hakeem was a better shot blocker, and Moses was the better rebounder in my opinion. But both Hakeem and Moses were great players on both ends of the court. It's really amazing how many great big men the Rockets have had through the years.
