Saturday is going to be one of the greatest sports days in Houston for the entire year. We're going to get some football with the NFL draft starting at 10am. Then Roger Clemens and the Astros are going to play at 1pm. Finally, Rockets vs. Mavs game 1 of NBA playoffs at 4:30pm. Can't wait!
For the life of me, I've never understood the infatuation with the NFL draft. The NBA draft is fun because it's over in two hours, but outside of maybe the first round of the NFL draft, it's just a bunch of guys that nobody has heard of...and then there is the same story about Mr. Irrelevant. I guess that's just what separates the die hard fans from the casual fans...
I remember a few years ago when the Bay Area had two playoff series in baseball, and two football games going on during the same day if I remember right.
I still thought last October was great. Game 4 of the Atl/Stros series, Texans' comeback vs. the Vikings, and the Rockets first preseason game vs. the Heat. All of the games where here in Houston.
I thought yesterday was pretty sweet! I had Suite tickets for the Astros and Rockets - that's the only way to go! Saturday won't be bad either - the draft, the Rocket and the beginning of ClutchCity III. How sweet it is!
Very true, I thought of that, too. That day was the best day in Houston sports history. Well, besides a certain game 7 in '94 and game 4 in '95. I didn't realize the NFL draft was this saturday. This weekend could be very good, indeed.
Not sure but I think that was the first time in the history of Houston that all 3 teams played on the same day, much less at home. That was a sports nut's dream! I remember it well...
