I have always been a huge family guy fan, however, it has seriously become unbearable to watch. They waste 5 minutes on a dance/singing routine which is neither funny nor entertaining and they do this everything bloody episode. The quality of the show is such that even I would not bother watching. Whats wrong with the writers? Seriously, do no one tell them that its as good as horse manure? (end rant)

What shows did you like that (over time) became unbearable to watch?

I'll just go ahead and mention The Simpsons now to keep the thread free of repetitive clutter...

No doubt about this one. Just too long of a series.

Married With Children's later seasons weren't that good.

You know, I was going to mention that too. It's like they no longer care about any of the characters outside of Lawrence Fishburne's Dr. Langston. I mean, wtf is the deal with Riley? She just showed up one day and now her main role seems to be doing legwork if none of the other regular cast is available.

And that Star Trek spoof episode they just did...ugh

Maybe so, but you can't really point out just how bad it is if you can't provide examples of the random crap they're doing now.

Sad to say that I agree here, though fo me it was the superior NBA TV Tuesday nigh show with Ahmad, GP, and C-Webb that knocked it down a bit. At least they can joke around and actually know which teams guys play for. And their player interviews kick ass.

Recently for me it's been Heroes and Reno911, I've never seen a show fall so fast as Heroes did..

I thought it fair to extrapolate that the crap got worse, not better. Based on your comments, I was right. ;)

scrubs almost did it early this season. there were two episodes that did not induce one single laugh. i can't really think of anymore because i typically have a short leash with shows i watch and i'm extremely loyal to those that i've watched for years. that's one of the reasons why i still find the simpsons and family guy funny. that and i don't expect them to be at the same level as their peak, but i watch it for what it is...sophomoric humor for guys. i thought the weed song in last week's episode was brilliant.

anyway, if i have to pick one, it'd be heroes. but i really hesitate to ever call that great, it was just a show i was into and then by the end of the first season, i thought it was terrible.

    madmax picks lost.

cheivous minniefield and i recently had a conversation about how you would cast a moonlighting movie. i believe we settled on this:

    maddie - jennifer anniston
    david - ryan reynolds
    agnes - kristen wiig
    herbert - danny mcbride

i only came up with who plays david.

On a sort of related note, I post on a movie message board and someone started a thread asking for the most ridiculous episodes of Family Matters. I only casually watched that show every once in a while, and I had no idea how unbelievably ****ed up and crazy that show got over time. Urkle shrinking Carl and him down to mice size levels. Evil, wooden versions of Carl and Urkle attempting to eat their souls. Urkle creating a robot version of himself that essentially tried to rape Laura. Urkle on the space station. How is it I never saw any of these weird ass episodes? That's definitely a show that went crazy as time went on.

Yeap, Married With Children. When Mr. Jefferson Darcy and Al went out together, when Bud's "Master B" character came out, and when Mrs. Darcy taught Peg stuff, those were good shows. But... what the heck was that about adding "Seven" to the show? I mean, one season Peg's pregnant, the next she has a 5-year-old kid with a silly name? What gives? :(

Also, I agree about Family Matters. There was an episode on Married With Children where some make-believe cheap writer came out talking about writing for ABC, and says "Sure! I am one of the family matters' writers! I mean, who cares how old that kid is, keep the suspenders and high-waters on forever!" :D
    Fixed.

The best part was they realized the mistake they had made and the following season, the whole seven incident was just a dream.

god, that kid's character was just annoying.

That 70's Show after Foreman left for Africa. That guy they added absolutely sucked.
