Every Rockets fan whose watched Jabrari since we’ve had him absolutely knew 100% that he’d miss both freebies last night and the wide open three. We all know he puts too much pressure on himself and that is what makes most common players choke. The NBA greats could always rise above the pressure….you never saw Magic, Michael, Larry, Damian, Steph, Klay, Kobe, or any other all-star type players choke in those situations, but you see scrubs do it all the time. Jabrari is not a scrub, but he doesn’t have the mental toughness to be a star either. We are lucky to have him because he is tall and the rest of his game is likely always going to be just average at best. Without him, since the idiots who run this team passed on Mobley and Allen, we would be worse than the terrible we already are.
Duncan is career 70% free throw shooter. What makes Jabari a*sjuice is that he is bad at 10 different things not just at ft.
Kobe would absolutely walk to the line and make 2 FTs. Maybe our young guys can learn how to shoot FTs. I wish I knew how to find a stat that says players get better a free throws as they age.
I am a big Sengun fan but if his line struggles continue it will be a problem. He needs to get north of 70%.
What? That is sooooo not true. But Duncan made them when the game was on the line. He wasn’t scared. Jabrari is the most important player on this team because he fills the need of height. Without him we’d be even smaller. He just isn’t a very good basketball player, but we can’t replace him with a smaller much better Eason due to our GM not fielding enough height on this squad.
The narrative would tell you it’s not true, but in reality it’s true. He was an awful clutch player, just is what it is. There’s several players who were super clutch, like lebron, jordan, joe johnson, etc. but kobe? Hell no
Game 1: 6 missed free throws (10-16) •Sengun: 2 missed free throws •Jabari: 1 missed free throw •JaGr: 1 missed free throw •JeGr: 1 missed free throw •Amen: 1 missed free throw Game 2: 10 missed free throws (10-20) •Sengun: 4 missed free throws •Jabari: 3 missed free throws •Amen: 2 missed free throws •FVV: 1 missed free throw Sengun has 6 of the 16 misses Sengun and Jabari have 10 of the 16 misses Sengun, Jabari and Amen have 13 of the 16 misses
H/T to @TimDuncanDonaut Look at this man calmly knock down two free throws with one hand and we can’t make one.
Tbh i'm not worried about that. He'll be a good ft shooter probably around ~80%. He doesn't have to be clutch to be a member of a contender. I want him to be a good shooter and average defender. That's all i ask. Anyone with a functional mammal brain could tell he's not going to be Durant but if he can't even be MPJ level player then why are we playing him? F.ck it start Tari then. He can defend and he he's a better 3pt shooter and Tari is 6-8, 6-9 he could guard some 6'10 bigs he's athletic has active hands i don't know would he get emasculated by Wemby? I don't think so.
Great points, but please allow me to elaborate on why small ball doesn’t work. If we start Eason at PF he can hold his own against the taller guys, but it uses up enormous energy to be always climbing up the hill instead of walking an even path. It wears out these guys to have to work twice as hard as teams that have size and were put together by better gms. Performance eventually drops when one guy has to work twice as hard to get a rebound as the other.
I don't disagree but at this point Tari has to play at least 25 mins because this dude is horrible. I can't watch him. We have to cut down his numbers because when he's not making his shots he's unplayable and hurting the team. At least Tari would bring some sort of resistance. It's so sad he has all the size he needs to excel on both ends of the floor but is a complete bum. It's body and soul thing his soul doesn't belong to be on the wheel. Like a chipmunk trying to drive a Ferrari. if Chet had slipped down to us we wouldn't be talking about this today. Chet-Sengun or Wemby-Sengun is perfection even though they are both gonna be injury prone players throughout their careers but it would work.
Very good video. I remember TD absolutely sucking at the FT line for about a season and a half. They tried different postures, techniques... note his pigeon-footed stance in the video; that was one of the experiments. He even underwent psychotherapy for his FT woes to no avail. Eventually he shot himself out of that FT slump.
