steve did a wonderful job vs. dallas. it was precisely the type of hoggishness i've been wanting to see from him all along. if he can maintain this mentality, the rockets have a serious chance to make some noise in the west. of course, there is the question of whether or not he has the balls to maintain this mental level, but hey - for what it's worth - i'd love to see him do it. steve can be THE MAN if he dares to be. if he doesn't "dare to be", with the way this team is assembled - we're going nowhere! be THE MAN STEVE! we ALL want you to! i realize some people think i've gone coco-nuts, but here's the thing: if steve doesn't want to be the man, i'm all for moving forward with the "team". it isn't pro-mobley-cultism. it's "doing what's best for the team."
OK, forgive me if I missed some sarcasm somewhere, but whatever happened to "trade Steve for Lamar Odom"?
It was almost as if Stevie read your Lamar Odom thread - that was the most aggressive I've ever seen him on offense.....for the first time he was thinking shoot first.
Incidentally, 'the man' shot less in Dallas than he did in San Antonio or against LAL. But 17 points in the first quarter??? ****! I think that aggressiveness shoots a louder shot across the bow than trying to get your team involved during the first 3 qtrs. IOW verse, "I agree" (about hogging it and hogging it early).
Francis should forget about passing first and just go out and try to score. Then the team will follow him. FRANCIS NEEDS TO ****EN HOG THE MOTHER****EN BALL SO ****EN BAD THAT IT NEEDS TO **** **** **** ****!!!!! IM TURNING TO ZRB!!!
HEB, egg-zact-lee! this is the francis that we need to see on a consistent basis. the other francis - who would rather defer than step up and "be the man" might as well be traded for lamar odom. this francis is the franchise. that francis is tradebait.
Pity that our momentary agreement has to be shattered verse, but let me see if I completely understand your position... Francis was not "the man" when he shot a ton of times in both San Antonio and later against the LAL. He was a man when his shots went in the bucket against Dallas. i.e. being "the man" == having a high field goal %age. In this light, Allen Iverson, someone that I think everyone should acknowledge is "the man", actually is not "the man" b/c his fg %age sucks. Or is Francis not "the man" when his shot attempts go up as the game progresses? Hell, to me, that person is not only "the man" but "the teammate". The only difference between waiting longer to shoot more and shooting from the outset is the epiphany by Rudy that Francis has to threaten early to be an even better teammate.
