Forget that Jabrari melted down the stretch like he did in the NCAA tournament……the big story tonight is that the coaching was excellent!!! I haven’t been able to say those words in over 3 years. Not once under Silas. Coaching is much more important long term than Jabrari’s choke job. Udoka even figured out a way to get useful minutes out of Boban as it appears he’s getting sick of small ball as well. We just don’t have the players to compete this year, but Udoka looks like he knows what he’s doing and that’ll pay off in the long run.

I'd happily take some Chuck Hayes or PJ Tucker "small-ball" right now, especially at the PF spot where we play a near 7-footer...

We have J.S. Tate, our own 6’4 center

If only JaeSean could play basketball! Then we'd be set. Can we get a 6-4 Charles Barkley instead?

Luckily for us Popovich didn't pack the paint like Orlando did.

Guess he didn't want us to do the same to the Spurs.

Wemby was just too tall and mobile for Jabari and Dillon

Hit your free throws and this game would not have been close. Wemby is being coddled by the refs. We definitely have an issue with lack of shooting. Bullock, Green, and Jabari were supposed to be the answer there. If Jalen and Green can’t get it together, we will be a low 30 win team. If they do, we will challenge for a play-in.

Defense is improving and coaching is looking much better. We will be in most games this year, but our youth is still going to plague us. This is no time to panic. Tari playing last night would have been a terror for Wemby as I believe every time he touched the ball Tari would be harassing him. I know guys don’t want to hear it, but Sengun, Jabari, Green, and Amen are still super young. They will be prone to feeling the pressure.

Well, first thing that cheers me up. This is true and I agree. Yesterday was rough for optimism, we were expecting a lot more effort and resiliency from Jabari and Green. We dont expect them to dominate, but to compete at the level of their peers.

Its gonna be a long season of growth. There will be lows and there will be highs. Whats important this season is to see and recognize the growth.

The PnR with Sengun is good to see. Some solid looks coming from that. Probqbly the brightest spot rn.

The Sengun post up looks pretty good paired with him looking to facilitate out the elbow. I like that with our athleticism to cut to the rim.

His creativity and passing angles is fun to watch, but it is still sloppy. Have to cut down on the turnovers. Looking forward to hopefully seeing growth here.

Jabari had some struggles late with his shot but overall seemed decent. He had some nice moves and plays early.

Jabari had good defense on Wemby. He seemingly played very good positioning and made the right defensive reads, he just had zero answer against his length. He also lacked the neccesary strength to do any better.

Jalen seemed to do pretty good in the flow off the offense. Having a better facilitator is giving him some easier looks which is pairing well with his ability to get to the rim.

Id like to see more slashing from him while Sengun is operating the elbow.

Both FVV and Brooks are doing exactly as prescribed. Hard nose, competetive vets are going to teach so much to this young core about what it takes to win.

    Exciting stuff besides the losses.
