For those of you who may be interested, a local radio station has sponsored a political debate in Houston on September 13, 2010 at HBU. Hugh Hewitt will debate Howard Dean. May be interesting.
Never heard of Hewitt. He certainly has a good academic record. It sounds very interesting. Do you need tickets? Dean was really done in by a media dirty trick. I think he would have been a stronger candidate than Kerry. Dean did a very good job as head of the DNC.
It is a ticketed event. The price on the website is $25. I thought I heard that Dean supporters can get a reduced rate. It is being put on by a conservative radio station, so they may reduce the price for Dean supporters so they can have a more balanced crowd. Wow...it is part of a 16 city tour. http://www.1070knth.com/pages/ReclaimingAmerica
Not to knock the event which sounds fascinating; but I kind of wish ex-Presidents and ex-Congressional leadership did this instead of vapid, self-serving autoliographies, $100k a pop speaking engagements to crowds of 20 or incestuous lobbying gigs. Or at least put them on the Sunday talk shows: not sure what Juan Williams or Bay Buchanan says that I really want to hear.
