OK, guys, once again I'm trying to expand my musical horizon. Rules are simple: pick songs that are rarely in mainstream radio rotation and post them here. Examples are indie bands, long-forgotten one-hit wonders, college band music, etc. Now, try to keep the "I've heard of them a LONG time ago" comments to a minimum. Don't worry if you think it is not "obscure" enough. I'm sure whatever you contriubute, SOMEONE here will consider it "news" to them. My dream is to keep this thread going so that everyday when I get into work, I'd have something new to listen to. I'm 30. But don't let that limit your suggestions, though. Just tell me what YOU like and not so much what a person in his early 30s should like. Thanks in advance! Besides, I don't want to focus on me so much. (I know, hard to believe vwiggin doesn't want more attention). Thanks Mr. Meogi! "Red Hot Momma" is amazing. I'll definitely check out more stuff by that group. "Tiny Pyramids" is great too, and that video was perfect for it.

Nice! Thank you. Shelter from the Storm and Forever Young are two of my favorite songs. But to tell you the truth my Dylan exposure is pretty limited. This rocks!

Definitely one of the most amusing live acts. This band uses more instruments than I could've imagined.

Man...or Astroman? is definitely a great surf rock band that not many people listen to! If you're looking for something a little weird but very creative (and interested in the electric bass) listen to some Primus, which will be an acquired taste to most people. If you liked the Clash, Mick Jones had an old band called Big Audio Dynamite and now a new one called Carbon/Silicon. hm..i'll think of more later.
