This was one of the first silly movies that came out when my folks initially got HBO, and I probably watched it a dozen times. Oddly enough, the songs still stick in my head to this day. I just noticed Hulu now has it on there, so I figured I'd watch it again. Interesting part? I still liked the cheesy thing. Thoughts? Was it awful? Did you like it?
LOL. I think to truly enjoy it, you had to be in the era where it was shoved down your throat by HBO back in the day, when there wasn't anything else on. Personally, I love the "we'll be together" song at the end, especially because I still am close friends with close to a dozen friends from high school, even though that was almost 20 years ago.
The main reason I have a hard time watching it is... The leader of the T-Birds is played by Adrian Zmed, who is about 3 feet tall. It's just painful to watch him trying to look like the tough guy when he's such a wimpy looking person. It looks like they made his hair extra big in order to compensate, as well as trying (unsuccessfully) to film it in certain ways so that you didn't realize he's a dwarf.
I will always owe a debt of gratitude to "Grease 2" for introducing me to the yumminess of Michelle Pfeiffer.
You have to agree, you recall HBO having it on about every other movie, back in the day... What can I say? I love nostagia, and this movie brought back movies. Apparently, I'm in the minority on this... Oh well. And, come on. And say what you want about Zmed; He was my role model, both in this and Bachelor Party. Hmmmmmmm.......
I really have no qualms about the rest of the movie. But Zmed's midget-ness just totally ruins it and makes it unwatchable for me. &nbs.
Pfft. He was awesome back then. I only hoped I achieved his greatness. I liked it, because I saw it as a kid before I saw the original. And have had a crush on Michelle Pfiefer ever since. Cool Rider!
