The Exciting World of the Post-Dwight Houston Rockets

Here's the bad news for Rockets fans: It's looking more and more like Houston won't be getting Dwight Howard. Here's the good news: All the assets that Houston piled up in their attempt to get Dwight are going to make up a team that is fun as hell to watch....

    I'm not mad at that.

This team will be HELLA fun to watch win or lose.

the only problem is that it's premised on the "Finally, sources say Dwight has now agreed to go to LA!" non-story....as if that's even remotely relevant to the Magical ones.

So funny to see NBA fans on other board question what we are doing.

They expected the Rockets to sit around and lock down that 14th seed.

    NO! NEVER AGAIN! hopefully

It's not over yet. Everything I've heard doesn't make sense. Whether it's these "great picks" that Cleveland supposedly has or the fact that Bynum wants no part of Cleveland or Orlando longterm. Maybe I'm wrong, but it just doesn't make any sense yet.

Don't think it is close to be over. Morey is just standing firm on his offer for the moment while Orlando bluffs

He has no reason not to.

Morey is sitting on valuable picks, a cache of rookies and youth, in addition to cap space. Meanwhile, the Magic are on a very real time clock.

    Your move, Holy Man.

If we don't get dwight, i just hope fans are prepared for the comedown from the fun-to-watch high and the still-far-as-hell-away-from-contending-for-a-championship reality to set in.

i think astros fans went through that range of emotions within the course about a month earlier this season. be careful what you wish for, folks.

That's a given especially since ALL Rox fans are aware that this team even with the 1 year rental has no chance to win the chip this coming season and that is okay.....

We haven't won a chip in damn near 20 years and everyone in the H has survived the drought!

Just gotta keep pluggin' along and hope we get back there.

This youth movement is the start to that OR at the least competitive, entertaining bball.

I'll take a Morey rebuild over a CD rebuild ANYDAY!!!

And meanwhile, he's set us up for a very interesting start-from-scratch season if Hennigan proves to be stupider than we can imagine.

Yeah me too! I'm finally getting satisfied with not having Howard or Bynum and now watch...we are gonna trade my new favorite rockets for either one of those fools. SMH.

Why does he think we won't get Dwight? Howard's announcement that he would resign with LA is about as unexpected as Anderson Cooper coming out, and as of now, there's no reason to think that Bynum would re-up with the Cavs.

The fundamental dynamic hasn't changed - Orlando wants the best combination of picks, prospects, and cap relief they can get, and they're holding out for a better offer than what they have on the table for us. A number of factors could blow our leverage - Bynum could promise to re-up with the Cavs, LA could trade Gasol for picks and prospects, or Dwight could agree to stay with the Magic - but nothing that's come out today changes the game.

It's funny, everyone in the world agrees that the Rockets should keep their youngsters.

    :)

    Except Les and Morey.

    :(
