Lol its like watching the ms dos version of lebron lol Naw but Grant Hill was greatness, him and penny hardaway were supposed to be the new era of basketball but injuries ruined it and basketball fans had to pin the hopes of the nba on the 96 draft............Which wasnt too shabby lol
Thanks for posting. GH was fun to watch. Seeing OT getting fed like that for dunks after dunks brings back a lot of good memories of when he was with the Rockets!!
what could've been ,that is a hall of fame career right there and shame on orlando for booing him. THey have a right to be disappointed, but not mad at the guy. Think of the guys like eddie curry and so many others who have heavy injuries, take a pay check and move on. If any of you have had even minor surgeries , you know the toll it take to rehab and the pain it does. And this guy could've easily left it and gone away, but he damn near rebuilt his ankle over several surgeries, almost died in the process, and kept trying to work his but off to get back, and even against all odds, came back his last year in orlando to give them an all star year and now he is playing for near the vet minimum. The ideal professional, in my opinion he would've been better than lebron had he not gotten injured
Man he was great. Such a shame about the injuries. He's basketball's version of Ken Griffey Jr. Who knows how great he could've been.
rep you if i could OP. That was an amazing performance from Hill...and Shaq was and still is a tank in the paint.
hahaha yeah i'm sorry to the old players but, while they may have been tougher and perhaps even more skilled up, however they cannot compare to the physical abilities of modern players. I swear every time I watch an older NBA game it feels like I'm watching them play in slow motion.
It's easy to think about what could have been, but I've actually enjoyed watching Grant Hill have a little career resurgence in Phoenix. I read an article not too long ago where Hill said he feels better now than when he was in his mid-20s because he finally feels healthy and he doesn't have all the miles on him like most players his age have.
Hill had Michael Jordan's hang time, and Magic Johnson's court vision. The only weakness in his game was that he wasn't a great shooter, especially from long range. BTW, that game shows you how much difference there is between games in the '90s and games nowadays. The winning team of a double OT game scored only 100 points.
Hill was great back then and is amazing right now with what he's doing this year as a 38 year old. Don't want to nitpick, but he had no where near Jordan's hang time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGLaKfEyRL4&feature=player_embedded And Magic was the best point guard of all time.
It really is a shame what injuries did to Grant Hill. Also, does anyone else find it amazing that if the year hadn't been associated with the video, that thing probably could have been passed off as being from the 70s even though it was only 1997? I still remember 1997 like it was yesterday, yet when you watch anything from back then, the quality looks like you're watching it through a shower door. Is that really what we were accustomed to back then?? HD is spoiling me.
That was amazing. Thanks OP for the video.. repped. Hills passes were so ON POINT! That game reminded me of a mixture of Tmac's passing game and Kobe's all around offense game.
If Grant Hill never got hurt, Tmac would never have the reputation he does, rather he would be 2 or 3 time champion, as the Scottie Pippen to Grant Hill's Jordan. Grant Hill was AMAZING, he was the best player in the league when he got hurt. Just imagine him getting hurt being as good as he was for Orlando fans. As Rockets fans we are upset about Yao getting hurt on the off chance he could've led us to maybe 2 titles. If Hill was healthy with Tmac they would've won AT LEAST 2 titles.
