OK...I'm sorry if this has been a topic before. I know it's a relatively new game, but there might have already been some discussion on it. The reason I'm just now discussing it is that I recently rented (and now purchased) this game and was completely blown away by it. I knew something was up when my wife went to check out at the movie place and she was standing there with her son (he's 13) and the clerk asked if she was renting it for him (her son). Well, we got home, popped the game in my PS2 and I was immediate awed by the level of graphics in this game and how much of the game space you can explore. The violence is quite gratuitous and the sexual innuendo is blatant, but, pardon my juvenility...this game rules! I was a bit unnerved by the cop killing aspect of the game and am constantly reminding the 13 year old that that is not how our society works. He acknowledges, hands me the controlled and wanders off to play The Sims on his computer. All-in-all, this game definitely deserves the Mature rating it received, but for an adult, who can keep in mind that this in only a game, it's great. Anyone else have this game or rented it???
I have this game... Vice City has the same exact violence and sexuality as 3 did, but better graphics, new cars, and a better non-dull atmosphere like 3 did. Plus the guy can talk now.
It comes out for the PC in March...better Graphics and better control.... I can't wait. If you like Vice City, you should get GTA 3, it is more of the same. DD
Got it the day it came out and still love it. I don't get many chances to play so I'm only about 35% done.
Hi...I'm your son's age. And you should play The Sims. You will be surprised to see how that game is... it's not as bad as GTA: Vice City, but it's pretty explicit. I love Grand Theft Auto! It really isn't very bloody. It's a great game...the best thing I like about it is just going around the city...and the gangsters.
My wife and stepson are addicted to The Sims. We've ended up buying all of the expansion packs (except Living Large) and my wife has scoured the internet to find the cheat codes to build their Sims up. I'm sure I would find the game pretty fun, but I don't want to spend a ton of time playing something that has no ultimate goal. Anyways, I'm living my own Sims life and for the life of me, I can never get a raise! (At least I don't work seven days a week)
Interesting parenting strategy- hoarde all the violent games so your kids can't get their hands on them.
When are they going to make it multiplayer like GTA 1 and 2? I can't imagine how many hours people would spend playing Vice City or GTA 3 online against or with other people. Just imagine all the different types of matches/games you could do with the engine. Heck, just imagine playing GTA with 30+ real people in the city. B
it would be so tight if they have vice city onlinee, your e going around the city, and you see ppl who are doing other missions, just random ppl u see in the game, walkin around
hmm...you're right! That would be cool! But it would be very slow....think GTA controls blended with The Sims. That would be awesome!!! You are a person with a family and you can work for people and live a life! Or you could start your own city! But that would take a lot of...programming and money. There's already the Sims Online.
the two greatest things about the gta games are the radio stations and the things people say on the street. in 3...the guy with the ponytail, on liberty campus... "ive got class, dude" "Let's Hackey sack!" "woah, dude, real heavy!" ...and if you look at the notepad hes holding, close up, you can see he's drawn a penis on it... one of the older guys walking around in 3..he has sort of a redneck, hickish twang. "what?! she was my cousin?!" "I could have sworn she was my second cousin!" and of course the gay construction worker... "Young man.." "Theres a place you can go.." "In the navy!" "Allright, Im gay!"..he rarely says that, but he does... in vice city...i havent really screwed around with people enough to remember my favorites... but the guys who just stand around..who work for you...always make me laugh... the old black man on the street who follows women around...and just goes "damn shes fine", and "come here pretty lady" on VCPR on the radio..Jonathan Freeloader and that other woman.... how shallow they act is funny...and the politics maurice chavez discusses...with that senator... "im naked back here! its my right as a person!" "gangs are a myth created by the liberal elite to patronize the working man" "Shouldnt we give them the number? Like i tell the kids at the library i volunteer at: Look it up yourself, no you cant go to the bathroom, and stop crying. Thats good advice." ....anyway, as you can see...if i can be entertained so extensively by merely the audio aspects of the game.....just imagine everything else.. gta3, gta vice- 2 best games ever made....and i cant figure out which ones better...
Anyone else find the game boring after a few days of play? I rented it rather than buying it to see if it was worth buying before Madden '03, NBA 2K3, Tiger Woods PGA Tour '03, or Live '03. Sure, it's entertaining...But I would much rather have PGA Tour or Madden '03(Haven't played either of the basketball games) Here's a question: How the heck do you catch the guy at the golf course? What about the Pizza Delivery guy? Also, I rarely play my PS2 and own only one game: NBA 2K2...Would it be worth it to buy either one of the new basketball games?
Also, I rarely play my PS2 and own only one game: NBA 2K2...Would it be worth it to buy either one of the new basketball games? Both are very good games, IMO....
Yes....but NBA2k3 RULES!!! No Yao Ming...but great game! I love it! If you don't like hip hop...good! The new 2k3 is all in ESPN mode! Great game...I love it. The only part I do not like is you know how you can press a button and throw the ball to the closest person to the net....usually to alleyoop...that has been removed. I still think it's a great game.
Yeah, but is there a big enough difference between 2K2 and 2K3 to warrant buying 2K3? I rarely play during the school year.
