Well, it actually expired a couple of years ago according to Bill Simmons rule:

"Q: What is the official ruling on double grace-year periods, namely applying to my Broncos? This would be the sixth year after the second win, so I could b**** about their annual collapse; but with that pesky back-to-back, I still feel a little wrong. I need clarification.
    -- John Sharkey, North Dakota

SG: After consulting with my buddy Gus (the co-creator of the "Five-Year Grace Period" theory), we decided that back-to-back titles extend the grace period to seven years. In other words, you have to endure this Shanahan-Plummer hell for one more season before you can openly b**** about it. Even after they blow the Colts game this weekend." LINK

So ours ended in what - '02 since we won back to backs?

In Houston we have a grace period of about 24 hours.

The grace period in Houston ended when they unveiled the new uniforms after the 2nd championship

you know, I love this site for many reasons. Mainly because I live in Pennsylvania, go to school in Wisconsin. I go to this site so I can vent about what's wrong with the Rox and read other's opinions on the Rox.

Screw the grace period theory (and I'm a big Bill Simmons fan). I'm a true fan, and I want to win every game, every night, and win the title every year.

The Rockets have been playing essentially .500 ball for almost six years now, and there has been plenty of "b****ing." Given some of the bone-headed personnel moves this organization has made, it is well deserved.

I think Yao's grace period is over. Dude needs to show up night in and night out. Sheesh.
